Wow a little testy this afternoon. Calm down. I remember when you made the handguard cover, you sent me pics. You also sent me pics of that fancy grip you made.

If a deer can stand or run for 15-20 seconds after having the heart obliterated why can't a human.
As in horses and other prey animals, showing shock or damage or illness is a sure sign some bad ass varmint is going to make a meal out of you, literally. Prey have a very high level of pain before shock sets in. When we trained horses, we had to be especially vigilant. If you were not careful, a horse valued at 5 figures or more would be dead on the floor before you even knew there was any type of issue. Same with deer, don’t let the bastard know you are hurting.

The stripped deer on the left, ran only 30 yards after the bullet from the .25-06 destroyed his entire heart lung area including a hole right through the center of his heart.

Because deer aren't wimpy like people. Why can't most people jump over a 7 foot fence from a stand still? :D

Bringing deer into it... back in the 80's I recall reading some Deer and Deer Hunting Annual thing-a-ma-bob-book where they sited some execution from the earlier part of the 20's century. Prisoner died by firing squad, half dozen .30-06 rounds to the heart from about 10 yards away, and he either remained conscious or his heart still beating (or both, this was near 40 years ago when I read it.) for some crazy amount of time, like 20-30 seconds.
