That is WHOLESOME BEYOND WORDS. That family and the neighbor's family are DEFINITELY surviving any worldwide zombie apocalypse or nuclear war. They got their shit together and are a healthy community within their community.
Just one thing though... She got into the trunk to monitor the lock mechanism while it is closed... WITHOUT A FLASHLIGHT or any light source..... Husband BETTER bring that up with her later. Lessons are better off learned early and engrained firmly during a harmless learning curve. Even a tiny error like this during a weather emergency or wilderness survival situation can mean tragedy.
BIIIIIG freeze coming in 7-14 days that will reach as far as the Gulf Coast. Gulf states can be seeing below 10°F temps and northern states will all be ranging in at -5°F highs. Above-ground utilities will be the first to croak. Prepare now. Hopefully NO MORE 2021 fiascos...

Probability percentage. Outlook 8-14 days, so light blue areas are forecast at "50%-60% chance of seeing below normal temps". Article states affected areas will be 25-35° below normal. That is pretty significant.

tx for the long range heads up. haven't had any winter to speak of here in no.cent. FL in 5+ years. did see it snow in palm harbor/tampa and freeze roads in gainesville about 30(?) years ago. coldest i've had here in last 26 years is 18. doubt we would see (>20 ) but...did see it snow in miami 1 year. NOT snow like you see in mt. states,just visible flurries.Right here:
