I have two left, one with a 28" modified barrel made in 1940 and one made in 1910 I bought from a junk dealers scrap pile that was missing the forend wood, had a busted stock and the barrel had been cut back to riot length but was otherwise functional.To me its easy to see the difference between between the poormans 97 and the richmans 12 underbelly’s. Since l’m poor there is a 97 inside my safe. When theres hornets nest to deal with the 97 goes to work with that 30” full choke barrel.
Cleaned it up good inside ond out, put new wood on it and rabbit hunted with it for nearly 20 before I converted it to trenchie configuration 7 or 8 years ago.
They share safe space with the rest of my meager Winchester collection that includes 4 Model 12's, a pair of 12 gauges and a pair of 20 gauges.

I was thinking he got analed from that buck since I am scratching my head still trying to think of that logics getting poison oak. There is only way in my mind is that buck made him hump backer.

I scratched his head while he was eating apples from my hand. I forgot for a moment that he lived in an area replete with poison oak. He had some oil on his hair, obviously, and the rest is history.

Sure, really not that big a deal to me what some guy does in his yard. I do think it's a shame when, as a State Park employee, we end up trapping and usually unfortunately destroying the human acclimated hand fed animals in our campgrounds. I understand the difference though, between public places with children and some guys backyard.
