FWIW, it's Willy's, i.e Willys-Overland Motors,
not Willis.
During WW2 Willys and Ford were the main producers of the Jeep.
Willy's produced the MA's and MB's, Ford produced the GP's and GPW's.
The Bantam Car Co. was the inventor and original manufacturer of the WW2 era 1/4 ton jeep (Bantam BRC-40) but couldn't keep up with production demands.
But it is pronounced “Willis” … at least according to my long-dead grandpa who owned at least two; including one that still had all its original Army markings, radio brackets, etc.

Willy's, correctly pronounced Willis, though everyone I've ever know said Willy's.

My dad drove a '37 sedan like this through high school and beyond. Came home on leave one time and it was gone. My grandparents sold it on him. lol

Nice! My first truck at the age of 17 was a 1953 Willy’s jeep pickup. For some retarded reason I sold it.

I hope he beat the dogshit out of your grandparents and called the cops on their ass for Grand Theft Auto.

Just kidding, I'm sure they needed the money. If not, thats chickenshit.

I've heard more than one story of parents losing, selling or giving servicemen's prized possessions away while they were off fighting a war or spending the money they sent home.

Well they had bought it for him in the first place. lol
Money was no doubt tight. Dad said he didn't have an indoor toilet till he went to basic training.

He replaced the Willy's when he got out with a brand new '57 Chevy convertible. Have a picture of him standing next to it in his class A's (thought I had it on this computer but can't find it, of either car)
