Its a little tight, I can get card stock between the barrel and the top of the bridge but I dont know if its enough. I'm thinking of getting some gasket material from Napa in the morning to make shims. Eventually the rifle will be rebarreled when I kill the current barrel. Gasket material shims be good enough to get me some clearance and keep the bridge steady enough when I use a friends gear?

I’d personally shim it. Guys had issues running straight 1.250 barrels in ATX rifles. They fit but flexed and contacted the bridge when fired. Better safe than sorry.

Barrels are like a tuning fork and flex more than one thinks

Your kidding... Thats, uhm irritating.....

I talked to Woody. he said the chassis would be fine if I left the bridge off. So I did. Rifle shoots fine. (When the nut behind the trigger does his job).

Your missing night time coyote hunting in your pic. Don't currently own clip on but have access to and future plans for clip ons.
Getting a bit away from the subject, we don’t need no rifle for coyotes, we had a bear

Long deceased, but a better dog never lived. Our farm was surrounded by heavy woods and coyotes abounded, our half lab, Bear, took em out. Nothing with evil intent was safe, when they wandered onto our land. Yet Bear would let our toddler son ride him like a horse, never once, even showing a tooth.

Bear with Brenda in 1977, he was just a one year old pup at the time of the picture.
