2025 Nightforce elr steel challenge & Krg extreme

My buddy was shooting those 197's he shot the AB mobile lab, BC variation was atrocious due to the tips getting mangled in the magazine.
I shot 190 atips the first year I went across their lab. The bc variation was really good on them. I was using a 7-300wm @ 3050 fps. That gun shot really good and would hang right with my 300nm shooting 245s till about 2000 yards.

Is there anyone going to KRG or NF that'd be interested in a .338 barrel?
I've got one on the shelf but I've decided on a heavier contour, I'll bring it with if anyone's interested.

KS Arms, 32" Finish, Heavy Palma, 1:9, 5R
Would trade for 215M primers :ROFLMAO:

Question for everyone. I shot a 300 win mag last year. I stumbled on a 300NMI a few weeks ago. I don’t see a ton of people running the improved over the regular 300 Norma. After doing some research and running some rough numbers in my kestrel on some test profiles, why is that? It looks like the performance increase is there, so why don’t we see more of them?

Probably because you'll use 10% or more of the barrel life just for forming, is my guess. 20% is you're needing 200 pieces of brass.

That’s a fair point. I had a guy tell me one time that worrying about barrel life on a comp rig is like worrying about miles per gallon in a drag car 😂 so I figured that reason wouldn’t be a huge turn off since most of us are a little psychotic when it comes to this

I get that. But if your barrel life is 1000 rounds and you factor in break in time, and load development, a lot of guys steer clear of improved cases. You essentially have to do load development twice. I personally would prefer the improved version, but to each their own.

I shoot a 300 norma improved. My main reasons are for less trimming and running them at lower pressure and the brass last forever. Also i can easily mag feed the berger 245 lrht. But with n568 barrel life seems to improve specially over n570 and even n565. Other people have told me roughly with n568 they were getting 900 or more good solid competition accuracy with speeds of 2980ish. I don't push things crazy or go for top speeds but this case is very easy to tune and low es and sds

Start off with 2 barrels, both use the same chamber, same length. On first barrel use 100 cases, fireform and load development. Learn the nuances of the cartridge when the first barrel is toast fireform brass for the next barrel. You could even go 7/300NMIMP and just neck that brass to 7MM.
