Did they vote that way or did the electronic voting machines take care of it for them.
They did it to themselves! Canada uses paper ballots and a bunch of polling stations apparently had pencils. They say they'll be counting them until Tuesday (next?), so they'll likely "find" enough of them to give the Liberals a majority. Although, they might as well have one even if they don't "find" them. They'll be in power for the full 4 years regardless, is my prediction. The NDP would only stop propping them up if it looked like they would get a bunch of their seats back. That'll be unlikely as things continue to worsen up there.
Carney wants to tax home equity (on top the the already high property taxes) and inheritance. He'll also implement the Liberal's carbon tax in a way that's less visible to the masses. The end result will be more companies shutting down/leaving Canada and Alberta being pushed further towards separation. So, they've fucked themselves to try and hurt Trump, but it will probably end up backfiring and helping his agenda.

There is no "PM Election". Canadians don't get to vote for their PM directly (or for judges or senators). It's like congress, they only get to vote for their representative, the leader of the party with the most seats becomes PM.

Careful what you ask for ... pretty much every one of those House seats from Canada would be Democratic ... probably zero Republicans. Bottom line ... the whole "51st State" thing is a stupid fever-dream. It's never happening.

Exactly my point. Greenland and the Panama Canal ain't happening either. These guys need to focus on what matters, not the goofy land acquisition dreams. All the polls, even the Fox pole, show huge vulnerability on these issues. If the Republicans don't get busy lowering grocery prices and raising people's 401(k)'s ... they're gonna get creamed in the mid-terms.
This is a country that can’t even man 47% of its CF-18 fighter fleet, and fails to be able to fulfill its basic NORAD commitments as a result. Meanwhile, they are able to elect Indian terrorist leaders into Canadian Parliament somehow.
Even if that were all true, it still wouldn't justify any effort by the US to abscond with their sovereign territory. They've made it completely clear that they're not interested in becoming our "cherished 51st state". At this point, we should walk away, and work on stuff that (a) is possible, and (b) contributes to the greater good. This silliness about Canada does neither.
We need to figure out some kind of fighter basing in the north central corridor that they have to pay for, since they failed to do their part. We even included them as a Tier 1 F-35 partner and they still haven’t acquired them, after being in-position to have been one of the first nations outside the US to start taking deliveries.
Russians and Chinese don’t want RCAF and USAF connected via the F-35 MADL network, which will represent major challenges to their threats in the Arctic.
That’s what this is all really about. Chicoms bribed Trudeau and propped up his campaign to cancel RCAF orders for F-35s as part of his main campaign platform. He knows nothing about fighter acquisitions, and neither do any of the male feminists and cat ladies in Canadian parliament, same as most of the Euros.
I’ve been following the RCAF fighter replacement program now over multiple administrations and they got over 100 Canadian companies making parts for F-35s, and still haven’t received their orders. RCAF is one of the most demoralized NATO air forces of them all as a result.
Even if all that is true, and irrespective of any other argument ... we have no right to try to force a sovereign nation to submit to physical or political subjugation in the face of a clear and compelling lack of support from Canada. I'm not arguing with any of this thesis or any criticism of their defense posture. All that is "interesting", but not "important" to any discussion about taking over their country. It's the wrong debate, held at the wrong time, for all the wrong reasons ... IMHO. Work on building back my 401(k) and lowering my grocery prices. Let Canada take care of itself.
Since the current discussion is about military aircraft, here in Canada, one thing that isn't being said is that the Conservatives, and all my Conservative friends WANT the F-35.

Trump fired a huge shot across their bow to destabilize the corrupt, treasonous Canadian political system to make it crack. Now the traitors and patriots will have to make their cases for their nation, even as the consequences of institutional betrayal play out in their geopolitical and economic position.
The fact that Canada has failed to cover the Northern attack vector and let Chicoms weasel their way into the Arctic still remain significant political and military considerations the US now has to account for somehow.
Most Americans and Canadians remain unaware of this reality still, because of a coordinated media role in distracting us all from the core critical topics about US-Canadian relations.
It also might explain why Michigan is getting F-15EXs, which have a huge combat radius and Mach 2.5+ max V0 that can help cover down on the central corridor gap left by broke-down CF-18s that can’t fly.

People don’t understand how primitive things are in other places around the world, and have deluded themselves into believing the artificial world they see on social media feeds.
They don’t have a clue abut the fundamental structures of industry, trade, or technology. College-schooled people with PhDs are often the most-guilty of this after decades of “everyone should go to college”.
