I have a Remington 700 ADL 6.5 Creedmore installed in a MDT Orynx chassis - works fine- probably 700 rounds has been run thru - would like to have a muzzle break now and maybe a suppressor in the future. I see Silencer Central has a threading service for approx. $170 shipped ? - question is - should I buy a new threaded barrel and have it installed or have this one threaded ? At this point I am wanting to learning to shoot out farther than 200 yards, which is the max at my club. Found a range with over 1000 yards so planning on visiting this summer - Thanks

You still have 2000+ rounds of barrel life in that barrel. Does it shoot well enough to keep you happy for 2000+ more rounds is the real question. If yes, then thread away, if no, save up and put a top tier pipe on the rifle.
Hey, can you design a bullet that once fired, does a quick reach-around and perfectly threads the muzzle whilst existing? Lol

I hate dealing with barrel threading, as the dudes who do a good job always are a mail drop away. Local guys are, uh, creative…shall we say, and have given me rough threads. Concentric, at least, but not clean like the examples I’ve had done with Silencer Central.

Although now I’d choose someone else as that outfit is a bit weird.
