You couldn't pay me enough money to do roofing in the hot Summer months!
Get hungry enough you will.
Nobody wants to get their pretty little girly hands dirty anymore but they bitch and moan about all migrants taking Americans jobs.
Fkn pansies...
I did a little roofing work when I was in college.
Back then we had to throw a square of shingles over each shoulder and climb the ladder without dropping them or falling off.
Now they have a gas powered lift to get them up there.

You think roofing is is tough, try picking and loading 2 tractor trailer loads of watermelons a day in the summer heat out in the open sunlight.
It was 130 degrees inside those trailers easy.
Or tie rebar......
Or weld bar Joyce and bridging.....
Fkn limp wrist pansies.

Shinglers are pussies. Try 110 deg on the roof, three layer pitch tear off (long sleeves and bandanas to TRY to avoid chemical burns), then mop down 3 ply asphalt felt bituminous. The Hot is 800 degrees in buckets if you don’t have a pump kettle. Real roofing.

Military training was a vacation after that shit.

Oh yeah!
Well try driving a 1970 Dodge W200 Power Wagon all day without power steering.

But how much concrete did you pour and finish in a day?

Spent a couple of hours looking for artifacts in the creek with my grandson. We didn’t find any today but had a good time anyway. I think we are going to buy a couple of gold pans and try our hand at finding some flakes.

Go for it, nothing cooler than finding history in your local waterway.
I live on the Niobrara river and when the boys were little we would tube and stop at all the sand bars and freshly caved off river banks and find all kinds of stuff, bones mostly.
One son found half a giant bison skull, much bigger than today's buffalo and a 5000 year old (according to a local paleontologist) woman's skull.
Only thing I ever found was this miniature elephant tusk. Sadly, I didn't know how to take care of it and it dried out and broke in half.

Just being out there spending time with your grandson is priceless and if you find anything there will be stories to tell!
