MANY moons ago, I had a pillow chair. My room mate was 6'5" and about 275 lbs. Real serious athlete. One of his stunts was to take a couple of steps and leap toes up and try to touch nose and toes to the ceiling and land on that pillow chair. The floor was some cheap linoleum type tiles over a concrete slab. One day he missed the chair and landed flat on his back and the back of his head. Maybe 3 hours later, I came home from where ever I had been and he's laying there, holding his chest, some blood under his head. I panicked a little thinking he was dead...and he almost was. He moaned a little as I felt for a pulse. I called the ambulance. I sort of pieced it together but kept my mouth shut. He had a slight concussion and smallish cut on the back of his skull but he had separated his sternum. He would have died there on that cold floor. They cut him open all the way to his naval and stapled him back together. He had a zipper pull tattooed on that scar! He was in the hospital for several weeks and could do very little for almost a year. To make it all worse, he became addicted to the meds and never recovered from that for the rest of his life. But he was one funny dude and a damned good friend.
