It's also been long suspected that so could the Chinese or the Russians (or of course our own government)
Depending on who wants to create what issue and when.
Taking down the power grid is pretty much Step 1 in the plans a lot of various governments and groups have.
Modern civilization that we all enjoy is a totally fragile eggshell that most don't realize requires so much going right and so much careful effort to keep it all stable.
A question I'd pose to you
@Gunfighter14e2 for gaming to the ground so to speak:
When you are driving on the highway and all of the sudden traffic comes to a complete stop and you are boxed in and can't (no matter what ideas of ramming you might have) drive anywhere.
What are the signs you will be looking for to tell you that it's time to leave your vehicle, grab your long march home bag and get away from the trapped masses as fast as you can.
How long do you think you have while folks sit around waiting and shocked by an event, hoping for normal to come again or still afraid of normal returning quickly, before said festivities start kicking off?
It's something I take seriously as unlike the lucky types, I live and work in a city and urban type area.
I've seen what little things or small stupidity can bring half a city to a standstill for hours or a day.
I've seen where folks were trapped like rats on the road for days because of the stupidity, greed and foolishness of like 1 or 2 idiots.
One of the things folks don't properly take into account, is what will happen to traffic pretty much near any city or town if the power goes off.
That's just assuming power going out and not somebody who knows the key choke points for major areas deciding to close said choke points.
