It really is possible to extract various gasses from the air. Air Liquide has been doing it for decades. Let me say, tho, that I doubt a refrigerator sized machine can do so with any sort of economy. The various metals and salts, pumps and filters would cost more than they could ever pull out before needing to be replaced/replenished.

BUT...this is truly viable for clean water anywhere on earth (except maybe the poles): https://source.co/pages/residential

Oh ye of little faith.
 
That tech isn't new.
It's just that essentially the energy in to energy out wasn't really viable unless you had tons of extra nuclear reactor energy to spare.
Which made it something of interest to nuclear powered aircraft carriers and such.

Lots of stuff folks don't realize like when you run gasoline through many engines, you get almost the same amount of water out of it
(Germans used this to help keep their airships stable)

Or having a hydrogen powered electric car that runs on gasoline.

Lots of odd things folks don't expect but it comes down to is it more efficient than other methods.
