My wife's ancestry is German on both sides.
My ancestry is English, Irish, and Scottish. And my mother's father immigrated to the USA as a young boy from Germany.
So, she was once looking through a catalog called Cash's of Ireland. She liked the jewelry and other items in there.
She said, as if to justify any purchases from the catalog, "I wish I had some Irish in me."
I replied in an Irish accent, "Aye, Lassie. Do you want some, then?"
She gave me a punch on the arm and I knew my work was done.
