So much fail in that story . Reminds me of all the LEOs I've talked to that say " I'm not a gun guy .". Evidently not up to speed on combatives . Almost like being a car mechanic and saying " yeah , no I don't turn wrenches " .
WTF actual .
One would almost like to think that feds get a little more training , maybe know a few things. Nope a 145 pound mezteso just out fought two from the ground and got away temporarily

while there are exceptions, girls are generally not strong enough to control an average male that is resisting.
they need some kyusho training or similar so they don't have to be stronger than the suspect to control them.

Yes the time to be trigger happy is when a known member or a known terrorist organization has you or someone in your care in a chokehold- I have 30,000 hours of them shooting old young weak and infirm - sometimes for trying to film sometimes because they are deaf - but I don’t hear or see much of true threats getting gunned down - is it fear or is it the money they’ve been paid to stay hands off my entire life ?

I had a guy jump on my back and put me in a rear naked choke while I was arresting his buddy. What he got for his trouble was a 4" Spyderco knife lodged so deeply in the muscle of his thigh that it required surgery to extract the blade (I lost my grip on it due to the blood). Sounds like the cop did not have much in the way of self defense training.

Appropriate response - anyone trying to choke you from behind is capable of killing severely injuring you. The small knife is extremely valuable in contact distance fighting . Well played .
Had a close combat instructor once who’d escaped a cartel kidnapping with judicious use of his knife . Said don’t think about chest / neck belly and inner/ outer thighs is the target .

Just a minor peeve, but I hate when that move is referred to as a choke. It's a strangle, not a choke.

Yes, bleeding from the femoral artery is nearly always fatal.
