NYC has been in the shitter for a very long time, just like LA and San Francisco. No matter who wins, it is going to get worse. If the fascist wins, it will be more iron fisted Mafia-style corruption that has been the norm of the Tri-State area for the past 100 years. If the socialist wins, it will be a headlong descent into Portland-style degeneracy, with rampant crime and drug addled zombies taking over every street. On top of that, entrepreneurs will be fleeing by the hundreds.
A lot of dumb fucks heading out to vote tomorrow will be no doubt tempted by the "free buses and trains" spiel and I doubt they know that this money has to come from somewhere...

Well, then, I have the advantage. I live in Texas and not going to Phoenix is easy for me.
But I work in Dallas. The recently changed the online land development system and took what used to be an easy-to-use permitting and inspection system and changed into the stupidest upside-down glitchy piece of crap that ever was. Inspectors I have talked to don't like it.
Evidently, the building chief we had toward the end of last year was from San Antonio and brought this piece of shit with him, because that is what they use in SA.
Then he was invited to leave and now we have a DEI hire in charge and a city council that had already committed to the system. And jobs were getting held up for weeks. Some builders just took pics of the work and moved on.
So, I get my daily dose of socialist mind virus with some of these entitled city employees.
And get this - now, they have to put on re-inspection fees.
So, with one job, we have access to one permit for work on the site and the builder we work with has the permit for the other work.
An inspection was called for work #1 and the inspector arrived and went to the area of Work #2 and nothing had started. So, he red tagged it and put a fee on it. At the beginning of June. And he still has not removed the fee and you can't call any new inspections with the fee on there.
And the city employees are also powerless to stop this. And no, you cannot contact the building chief or the mayor.
It would take someone with "I don't care" money and absurdly expensive lawyers to create a big enough stink.
We have the computer permitting curse here too I deal with it all the time. What I hate most are the people. They're dumb and aggressive and you can't trust them business wise so you always have to double check to make sure they aren't screwing you.
This might just kick shit off in NYC finally. Everybody knows New Yorkers don't have time or patience. Make an already tedious shopping experience even more bland and longer and people will be going apeshit. Holding the train doors open for more than 3 seconds CAN get someone's ass kicked in some neighborhoods. NYC's main export throughout history is fisticuffs and street fighting.

The old mobster's COVID nursing home fiasco which led to the deaths of up to a thousand senior citizens, really fucked him over this time. This had been the one thing nobody had let go of and kept hounding Cuomo about throughout the campaign and rightfully so.

Well. If it’s anything like Chicago, the mayor really isn’t running much of anything; he’s just a mouthpiece and a face. He can spout off any crazy idea he has, but those really running things behind the scenes won’t stand for it. Just look at all the crap that came out of Brandon 2nd’s mouth before he got elected and compare that to what he’s been able to do which is absolutely nothing. The mob runs Chicago and I suspect NYC as well. The socialistic Muslim will find out he’s not actually king after he gets elected and that, at best, he’s the court jester instead; at worst, he’s the village idiot, which is how most think of Brandon the 2nd.
