Or they really are inbred morons.
They are a country with some significant allies that don’t like us. It should be assumed that they are in collusion and that they have advisors. They have been supplying drones to Russia, Russia offering to build nuke electrical plants in Iran, iran oil going to China, flights from China to Iran, a new rail line completed from China to Iran and Pakistan threatening to enter the war are significant signs. Not to mention that lying is acceptable in the Koran under certain conditions. And Iran stating that they have sleeper cells in the US. We should not underestimate them. Preparing for nothing is better than not preparing for something.

You simply cannot grab a snake anywhere, it has to be behind the head. That being said, it seems that more than one snake has been identified as harmless when in fact it is not the case. This is how geopolitics works. It is made more difficult with sinful man and corrupt politicians who do not desire peace in the first place.

We were on B-1B Combined Test Force from 1983-1985 before going to Hill AFB and UTTR. I did not know the B-1 was employed with an internal tank in the forward bay, but I do remember the neutering of the rotary ALCM launchers as part of SALT BS. We were long-gone from the program when all that happened, moved on to F-16C Block 40 systems integration, then F-15 CTF.

I would just tell DoD to have the aircrews and units to have a competition on who could sink the most Iranian ships in the least amount of sorties, with the least amount of exposure and expenditure, and offer incentives for the winners.

I mainly remember Doug Benefield, who was the chief test pilot from Rockwell. He died in the crash/ejection capsule incident in 1984. I’ll ask my dad about the others.

We were using the original 1970s-era B-1A airframes on the B-1B CTF after Reagan revived the program. The biggest change was the engine nacelles, but I recall the radome and tail dome changes as well. One of the aircraft had a long dorsal spine on it, and was desert camouflaged.
 
It used the rotary launcher mounts to attach to the bay.
The big tanks were 180", but if we wanted to violate treaties, the bulkhead between bay 1&2 could be moved forward 90" and then the 90" (9,000 # capacity) tank could be installed in the abbreviated forward bay.


I may or may not have seen that....

We ended up getting tail number 82-0001. Once it hit the ground at Ellsworth, it never flew again.

That poor aircraft had a shit ton of very hard hours on it, and it looked it.
 
We were usually on avionics, INS, weapons, sensors type projects at ED. Fuel systems on the B-1 still boggle my mind.

The MTOGW increased dramatically from B-1A to B-1B, namely fuel and weapons. I’m amazed at how it can pump such large volumes of fuel and keep the C of G centered when sweeping the wings. They were actually testing that when Dog Benefield died, at low altitude, which didn’t make sense to me.

We were at Plant 42 for the roll-out of B-1B #1 (82-0001). I remember that day well. There was this crazy hot blonde chic who had eaten one too many of the free premium sausages they had at concession stands for visitors, and she hurled it all out right in front of me onto the tarmac.

We canned what we could use. If you remember, ship 1-9 were a little different than the rest of the fleet, so not everything was useful.

Once everything was canned, we pickled it and let the SD Air and Space Museum have it. It's on static display there.
 
Five MOPs went through the central main ventilation shaft, which offered a direct, vertical path to the facility and detonated.
