Well maybe. But any acceleration is more likely gravity assist (same way we accelerated the Voyager probes).

Elon doesn't seem to understand politics. He seems to think the Presidency is like a CEO and can dictate what gets through congress. That's my take from his big, beautiful bill whining. Politics is that art of the possible, and what Elon wanted was not possible. That's the touch of the 'tism upon him.
Of all the business he has created only one, SpaceX, has caused a net growth the market. All of the rest have taken market share. Tesla took market from the traditional auto makers. It didn't lead to more cars on the road.
In politics, with a fixed number of seats in any legislative body you can only gain "market share" at the expense of others, you cannot create expand a market, or seats. So, given Elons drive for fiscal conservatism, who will this party steal seats & votes from?
If he is serious about change, he needs get involved in the GOP and primary those he wants to depose. But then he would have to work with other people and not be the head honcho, and he can't do that, because ego. That's the touch of the 'tism upon him.
If this party happens and gains traction say hello to AOC as your first woman president. And say hello to $20,000 NFA transfer taxes. If you think this party is a good idea and will lead to good 2A and good fiscal things, then based on the history of third parties you are, quite frankly, an idiot.

Really awesome documentary about a flight nurse in Summit county, CO who was in a horrific helicopter accident 10yrs ago. My wife worked with him when she first moved here and said he was one of the best nurses she has ever worked with. @powdahound76 may know him also, and I’m sure he knows of him

I worked with him in the ICU starting in ‘06. Absolutely an awesome nurse. And a great human.
Then I was in the ER and him flying, he would bring me patients.
I do know that he got out of the crash with no traumatic injury.
Just burns on 90% of his body.
One of the pilot Pat’s favorite verses was John 15:13
“Greater love hath no man, than to lay down his life for his friends”
Editing to correct a 10 yr old memory.
It was the hospital CT tech Jimmy who rushed into the flames to pull Pat the pilot out. Armed with nothing but a basic ABC extinguisher.
Watching the video in post 112,044 by Ichi made me instantly nauseated for a couple minutes.

I was at home, in Lakewood, near our big trauma center where I work. My daughter was 3 at the time and napping. A cousin was staying with us for a brief time and just told her “take care of her, be home when I can”. And I headed to work to see what could be done.
Dave was flown to UCH, the big burn center here. Pat was pronounced at Summit.
The other nurse was a friend who was loaded on an Airlife Denver helicopter and flown to us and I was able to help care for him from the minute he arrived until he was asleep in the OR.
