"general" abdul raziq (not a general he just shot people in the head until they stopped telling him he wasn't a general) controlled a crossroads and confiscated i think 20% of everything that came through, he was an *actual* illiterate highway robber

they made him the kandahar police chief and he raped every man woman or child that came into his custody

my best friend and a few buddies spent most of 2009 standing guard in the police station outside the rape room, because raziq was so hated he was under constant threat of assassination by taliban sympathizers in his own bodyguard... the logic was he was most vulnerable when he was raping, so US troops always had to be in the police headquarters during the act

we later formally made him an actual general

story does have a happy ending though, his bodyguards eventually killed him in 2018 (standing next to him when he was shot US general Gen. Austin S. Miller, who celebrated him as a “great friend” and “patriot.”)

to this day it's the only experience from heavy action in 4 deployments that messes with my best friend's head 😔

Aiding and abetting Pedos, seems to be something we do - so one should really be posting, "Move along, nothing new here."

Imagine what we'll all be held accountable for when the day of reckoning comes...

It's probably going to reeeally hurt :ROFLMAO:

It seems Israelis are bombing el Jewlani and pals in an effort to annex huge parts of Syria under pretext of protecting Druze
Word is Jewlani is already in Idlib where he is safe under Turkish protection

Talking to the Syrians about this is one VERY strange activity.

This is what it’s like talking to them about Palestine:

1. They'll all express support for the Palestinians
2. They're all hung up and wouldn't let go of their pro - Assad or anti - Assad convictions
3. #2 throws the entire discussion into a mess because they'll start their litany of all sorts of tribal grievances amongst each other justifying and reputing all sorts of whatnot irrelevant to the issue of the Palestinians
4. #3 happens when you ask them about Assad probably being the only major player enabling a reliable flow of arms (from Iran) to Hamas (not that Assad is an Angel, he's truly an evil little shite)
4.5. They'll ignore your question, "So who's going to be aiding the Palestinians now?"

It's like a cacophonic chatterbox of incoherent noise at this point...

5. Truth is, the Palestinians are second - class Muslims even in Syria - despite residing there, they are kept out of sight and out of mind
6. In line with #5, there are different tiers of Muslims - for instance, Indonesians working as Domestic Help in Syria do NOT have days off, and their passports are confiscated; similar issues in Saudi Arabia / UAE / Kuwait / Qatar
7. "Sooner will there be peace between the Muslims and the Jews than there will be between Sunni and Shia" - They'll get really pissed at you when you mention that only the Shias appear to be helping the very Sunni Palestinians at the moment
8. At the end of it all, you'll get so exasperated and may even say outloud - "Know what, not my problem - go kill yourselves."

At this point it's hard to say but the USA has so messed up Syria…

But…

“They hate us for our freedom.”

EDIT:

Depends which Syrian you talk to. We Americans frequently make the assumption of homogeneity on their part. Sadly, their internal loyalties and divisions lend credence to the idea that Syria was an “artificial country to begin with.” The unquestionably evil Assads were their Duct Tape, but that’s an oversimplification. As you have noticed before - on Sniper’s Hide, the assumption is that we’re speaking to white, male, somekindaChristian “Conservatives.”
