Hi all, I just installed a Lilja 18” stainless barrel on my CZ 457 and used a .300 barrel shim for headspace and when I shoot SK ammo the bolt is very stiff after the shot when I lift it up before pulling it back, but if I shoot eley ammo it opens nicely after the shot. I am guessing that it is a headspace issue but allI have is a no go gauge so Im not really sure if I got it right. The rifle shoots great but just noticeably stiffer with the SK , any suggestions?

Are you sure its a no go gauge that you have. The gauge that Lilja sells is a .043 go gauge.

Yep, SK rims are a couple/few thou thinner. If you used the .003 shim, try the .004 shim. This should get you where you want to be for the SK. It sounds like you got close when setting the headspace. .043 is a good middle of the road headspace.

If you get serious, and choose eley ammo as your ammo of choice, you may want to reduce that to maybe .040 or so, but that might leave you not being able to close the bolt on other types of ammo.
