I don’t believe there is or has been a systematic problem with Trigger tech products. I still run them in my ARs and have them in a couple of Glock19s. Pretty sure there is not an issue with their bolt triggers either as they are used by a ton of the top shooters. Do I still use them there, no, but not because of an issue but because I prefer Bix’n Andi. They make great triggers and am sure they continue the great work of Hawkins.

I like Hawkins stuff, it seems very well built and looks nice. I have used(maybe still have one?) TT trigger and it is in an AR platform. It has served me well for almost 7/8 years in that gun.

As long as they continue to make quality products that are reasonably priced(at today’s standards for pricing), I guess it doesn’t really matter which “brand” it wears.

That’s absolutely laughable. Aside from the recalled batch, go to any major match and ask around and you can find a dozen guys who have had the “hang fire” problem…always with the same response from TT….”do this rinse and blow cleaning regime” and when that doesn’t work, send it back for warranty replacement. It’s an adequate trigger when it works but it’s also the only trigger I’ll no longer use simply because it isn’t user serviceable.

As for the merger, I love the Hawkins products I use and I really appreciate shooting matches with their marketing guy and their production manager/design engineer. I hope for those guys’ sake that corporate overlords don’t fuck up the great thing the company had going. Namely producing solid, well designed products, made in the USA, and sold at very reasonable prices by people who fold a lot of energy back into the local shooting community.

I wonder if a large part of TT's interest in merging with Hawkins wasn't to get around tariffs and other limits, like the number of triggers a small dealer like myself can order in at one time?
Personally, I've got TT Diamonds on several Vudoo & one Rim-X repeaters, as well as on several CF rifles built on M700, Origin, and Solus actions, and have yet to have had any problems with them. I don't shoot multi-thousands of rounds through the CF rifles, but have shot many thousands of rounds through the Vudoo repeaters...

I also kind of think that the tariff thing has led to this. The opens both countries up if done right.

Well, From my experience, I have over 20 trigger techs personally and I spent may and june living out of my truck on the road at 2 day national matches. Shot 8 matches. Only one of them was a local club match. I talk to alot of people at those matches and always carry a few extra triggers, mags, scopes, cans and other parts if I hear of someone needing something. I didnt need to lend anything out except a full rifle to a buddy who was driving through Cody and wanted to shoot the gunwerks nrl hunter match. Someone could have had an issue and I didnt hear about it, but I do let MDs know I have spares so if there is an issues, they do usually hear about it.

Excluding the warranty issue, the only time I have heard of these issues with any frequency is online. Im not denying some people have had issues, but in my experience, there are probably some other factors at play as well. Trigger tech stands behind the product and warranties it if even if the issue isn't theirs. They are good to go in my opinion. I will keep running them.

I’ve found TT to have next level customer service, at least here in the land of convicts. My gunsmith sent me this pic after I sent him a tempest for some mods. The shop I sent the rifle through didn’t package the BA too well and ended up with this happening. TT said they’ve never seen this before and sent me a new trigger without hesitation.

In 2020, I shot just slightly more than 50 match days. Essentially a local match every weekend with a couple of 2 days thrown in for good measure. I was also practicing at least one day a week in between. I was totally on board with TT. Had three diamonds on three different actions that were all in active rotation. Over the course of that year, each of those triggers failed in exactly the same way. At first an intermittent delay between trigger sear release and top sear release that I only noticed if I was very deliberately pressing the trigger in dry fire. The problem got worse, in each case, until in some measurable number of cases I’d have to reset the trigger to get the top sear to release at all. How often can that happen before a trigger is said to be faulty? Each time, when I reached out to Trigger Tech, their answer was to rinse the trigger out with solvent, blow it out with compressed air and cycle it a whole bunch so that the internal components could clear whatever was causing the problem. Each time I did this, often trying novel techniques for rinsing the trigger or different air nozzle tips to get air in a different parts and in every case there was no resolution.

With the first trigger, I had a replacement in the mail to me as soon as I provided a tracking number for the old one going back. The second time, I sent the faulty trigger back and was put in the back of some sort of backorder queue and didn’t have a new trigger for six weeks. With the last trigger, I didn’t bother sending it back. The last thing I want is another one of their triggers hanging on one of my guns going into the finale, for example. I sold one of the warranty replacements and tossed the other one in the bottom of my match backpack as a last-resort back up trigger.

Aside from the backorder thing, I have no complaint about their customer service. They did in fact replace each trigger that was faulty with another trigger. What I do have a problem with is the premise of a sealed trigger to begin with. If the tiniest bit of dust will cause a trigger to malfunction and there’s no way to open that trigger up and properly clean it out, so the only solution is to send the trigger off for some unknown period while you wait for a new one, I’m not interested.

I don’t live out of my truck and I haven’t quite been able to maintain that pace of match participation. These days I make it to about eight pro matches a year and another dozen or so local or PRS regional matches. What I find ironic about this particular thread, is that I shot a PRS regional finale on Saturday and quite literally stood in the parking lot talking to a guy I’ve never met before about what he should do with his Trigger Tech that had suddenly started not reliably releasing the top sear.
 
I've got over 50k rounds across 5 Trigger Tech diamonds, have been very happy with their performance. The only issues two issues I can recall are one time when I a pierced a primer with an overpressure load and gunk blew into the trigger and caused it to cease functioning. I cleaned the trigger and it's been running fine ever since. The other issue was a hang fire condition on a rifle that had seen 2-3 years of dusty match conditions and I'd never bothered to clean the trigger. A flush with some rubbing alcohol and a blower bulb restored the trigger to function and it finished the match.

Hawkins has always had amazing products and great people, I run their stuff on all my guns.

I think the merger of the two companies is a good thing and I'll continue to use both their products.
