Agree on finding in stock options, helps a ton. I've kinda switched all to McMillan, as they're lighter, have better ergos(for me) and I get a custom order in 4 months or less for the last 5 I've ordered.
Agreed on the shorter waits at McMillan for direct/custom orders. I ordered one for a friend early last year and it took about 4 months. Also helps that McMillan has seriously trimmed their offerings to streamline production, doesn't offer a bunch of action specific inlets anymore (I thought I read somewhere here on SH they dropped 80-something inlets earlier this year, lol) and they have really been pushing their "U" line of stocks with a reduced waterline so they fit more actions (something which Manners has also been moving to on their newer stocks.)
Funny that McMillan fits you better... between me and a friend I run Manners and he runs McMillan, as each brand's specific "feel" and grip shape/positioning works best for us. We can easily shoot the other's rifles, but I feel more at home with the Manners grip and feel while he feels more at home with McMillan feel.
I do want to try a McMillan Mountain Tracker LR... While I like the familiar feel of my Manners LRH stocks I have a hunch that negative comb on the McMillan will help with recoil pad placement in the shoulder especially while prone, get the bore centerline down further into my shoulder to help reduce muzzle flip, and it will also provide a good cheek rest. I think Manners got 90% of the way there but ended up missing the mark with their new Pro Pack Folder, they had the perfect opportunity to use a pronounced negative comb and higher buttpad to help both cheek rest and butt pad positioning/muzzle flip since cleaning rod access isn't a concern with the folder. Maybe they'll offer the PPF with a negative comb rear section in the future.
Edit: One good thing about the adjustable cheek Pro Hunter in the OP's post (besides getting the slick recessed front rail) is with the cheek rest being set back a bit it should not interfere with the bolt on a long action, unlike a long action LRH... still can't believe Manners missed that on the LRH. The bolt on my long action in an LRH slightly rubs the cheek rest when fully back. I'd like the cheek rest raised another 1/8" but no can do unless I cut/notch the cheek rest for bolt shroud clearance... can't believe Manners didn't catch that in testing, lol. No issue with bolt interference on a short action LRH. If that adjustable cheek Pro Hunter in the first post was available a year ago I probably would have bought 2 of those instead of my 2x LRH's.
Wonder if Manners will update the LRH to have the same cheekrest design and wedge lock hardware, but again, that would mean yet another nearly identical/redundant design in their portfolio to eat production time.
