Thanks for being 'Captain Obvious'. I knew Atlanta was a shit hole when I landed there at 11:00 PM and drove out to Marietta (home of the big chicken).
You are right, this just proves Atlanta is a real shit hole. Now I do have a question for the reporter, what exactly color did you expect stomach-churning sewage was going to be? (kinda of asking for a friend)

I went to downtown Atlanta and had zero issues and I hate the city. The streets were a ghost town, and the bodies exhibit was cool. Maybe part of it was being more on the north side? The train in/out town was pretty convenient and surprisingly clean.

Atlanta like most cities was once upon a time a nice place to live and visit because of whites........then another group of citizens fuck it up so whites move and create another nice place (Buckhead) and now its getting fucked up by the same people that fucked up downtown ATL.
My first trip thru there was in Jan of1974, and I wanted nothing to do with that place then. Had to do a lot of work there over the years, and could not wait to get out of their every time. Like many big city's when you pay people to be sorry, they will never disappoint you.

Must have been in the Baggage Claim area below, coming from the general terminal area above. Not good. I wonder if it was a worn PVC pipe or something.
I visited Atlanta 3 times in the 1960's to visit my mother and her new Husband. In fact, I flew UNAM there for 2 of those three visits on Delta.My younger half sister was born there. It wasn't bad, back then, at all. This was back when Hartsfield hadn't been built yet and it was "Fulton County Airport" (I.e. the big building with "Atlanta" in large green letters on it).
Once later, in 1999, I did one of my "Food Trips" there. This is where I'd travel to a city I saw on the "Great Chefs - Great Cities" Cable show to check out the restaurants I saw on the show. This time, it was Hartsfield. But,, again, it wasn't bad. Atlanta was, still, pretty good, even then.
Not so sure, now.

I’ve been to Atlanta once, and been through the airport many times. Every one of them sucked. The closest I’ve ever driven to Atlanta is Chattanooga Tennessee. That’s as close as I ever want to be to that shithole.
DC used to be a great city, museums, music and entertainment, good food. A high education made it a fun level to visit. Then shit hit the fan. Id never go back.
Chicago was like that in the late 50's very early 60's when all the schools would field trip there. In the mid to late 60's it all started changing to the point most schools never did field trips there ever again.
When I had to fly thru there for the military, local rappers would start squeezing their nuts with excitement when I checked in my gun case. Then they'd try and steal it. Happened four different times.
Had to call the cops all the time and threaten them with the FBI since it was govt property. Members of a particular ethnic group don't tend to apply the law when in certain jobs.
Ever seen National Geographic videos of primates stealing fruit and running off? Same thing with bigger monkeys. One time we watched two ball squeezers run out to the plane and climb in the luggage area to retrieve our Pelican cases. Called 911 in the airport to report it. Cops got it back after the usual threats, said it "needed additional inspection. "

This is true. Also true is that now the H1B visa Indians (dotted kind, not feathered kind) are fucking up all of the surrounding areas as well (Alpharetta, Roswell, Cumming, etc). The Costco by my sisters place looks like you're in Mumbai.
