Police Appreciation Thread

@BurtG @akmike47

Good point about per capita.

I guess I must be black because I still don't see even if cops are dying in less numbers and more by accident, though I would like to see the differentiation between accident and violence (that is a moot point, possibly,) why it is necessary to shit on them in a thread that was to thank the good ones for doing what they do.

And, to be fair and deserving of the roast I received, I did forget where I am.

Continue shitting on all cops everywhere at all times without end.

So I know I have posted this before in similar type threads, I grew up in NY in an Italian family with connections. At roughly 5 years old I was taught two things which were reinforced regularly.

1) The only way two people can keep a secret is one has to be dead.

2) Never trust a cop, they lie cheat and steal, they are the legal gangsters.
I witnessed this personally as PO's would visit with family members to make deals and make sure all was protected. One hand washes the other.
I have followed these rules for 60 years and they have served me well.

Nice emotion driven response. The point is what they are doing isn’t as dangerous as people imagine they aren’t in a war zone being killed off in vast numbers by hordes of people actively trying to kill them.

Like I said before random citizens living in 4 different states and the District of Columbia are more likely to be murdered just living life than a cop on duty and you’re about as likely to die taking a doody as a cop being murdered on duty

There’s always someone higher up to report them to
I agree, but I have to live across from the buy. His oldest boy was shooting a bb gun, it looked like he was shooting a trailer that's parked behind their property. I called that neighbor and said to check his cams because it looked like he might be, but I wasn't sure. He had already called the sheriff, and the sheriff pulled in my driveway and asked me what I saw, and I said I saw him shooting his bb gun, but I wasn't sure what he was shooting, that was it. Cop neighbor kids never answered the door when the police showed, so he never got their statement. Cop neighbor obtained the police report, saw who called, and who was questioned, then his wife came over to my house and was banging on my door. None of us were home at the time, so I never got to hear what she had to say to me, I just saw the ring cameras from the house and cameras on the driveway. All that to say, could I report him, yes, but then he's going to get access to that letter, and find out it was me, and I still have to live here....across from this guy, and 2 of his 3 kids are little assholes. His middle son is cool as fuck, he's gonna be a badass adult one day, but the other 2 are likely to become asshole cops like their dad. It wouldn't surprise me if he was using his creds to track my posts on here, and he reads this.

In 2024, four Ohio law enforcement officers died in the line of duty. This includes two officers who died from gunfire, one by assault, and one due to an accidental gunshot. In the first eight months of 2024, there were 47 felonious deaths of law enforcement officers nationwide, a 6.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Additionally, accidental law enforcement deaths increased by 31.8%.

In before somebody plays the "smarter than you" or "democrat" or "you people" cards.

Okay, then report them for harassment every time. This is why he acts like a prick everyone is scared lol

We are gun people. We represent 5% of the population. We know how to shoot and how guns work. Maybe 5% of cops are gun people. The rest are like the general public except they had training.
“Training” I’ve seen it and the qualifications. I’ve told a few LEOs to their face if something bad enough happens I have to call in an emergency and you show up weapon drawn just go ahead and leave I’ll take my chances with the bad guy. I’m more likely to die by them missing their target.

Let’s also not forget the Policing for Profit schemes that bring in BILLIONS of dollars in the name of “safety”, 12.9 billion in 2021. There’s departments making nearly 90% of their total revenue on traffic citations and fines

“Safety” I got pulled over for 85 in a 55, he was driving towards me on a tree blocked curve the officer or radar couldn’t have targeted me on while having my cruise control set to 50 because I knew it dropped to 50 in about a 1/4 mile and the whole towns a known speed trap. The car had out of state plates because my girlfriend had just moved prior so it definitely wasn’t being targeted... The judge even lowered the speed because it was so ridiculous and I had no violations, but surprise surprise I still got a speeding ticket for something like 60.

Move to SoCal. Everyone does 85, except during rush hour.

Then there’s the ever unreliable drug dog scam to gain access to search vehicles, but drug dogs have something like a 20-26% accuracy rate.

Edit- to be fair it varies wildly (20-80%) but I see these numbers pop up a lot reading.

Ouija dogs ?

I sort of lean towards police K9s being fucked up. Have you seen the pictures and video of them ripping peoples bicep off? If the guys that dangerous just shoot him, they do it a decent amount of the time anyway lol

I got pulled over once cuz the CHP dude said I was speeding behind him.
How dare you match his speed. I hate when cops drive 10-15 under the limit and everyone is scared to pass, I drive right on by. Pull me over for doing the speed limit while you’re driving at unsafe speeds, which is a moving violation

Old buddy of mine almost got retired by his own fucking K9. He had to go get a bunch of surgery and it was up in the air if they were going to medically retire him. He was constantly getting bit it seemed like.

There is a school of thought that you should treat your dog not like a pet, but hungry and mean, otherwise they won’t be aggressive enough. Or maybe all the biting the dog did turned it into a psycho.

Often just the presence of a dog convinces the perp to give up.

I’ve seen where the dog was allowed to chew on guys after they had them caught and were in the process of cuffing them without fighting.

Nahh, its like public school teachers, doctors, lawyers, etc.. A few are true to the profession, but.......remember we are last in education, last in health care(The U.S. ranks as the worst performer among 10 developed nations in critical areas of health care, including preventing deaths, access (mainly because of high cost) and guaranteeing quality treatment for everyone, regardless of gender, income or geographic location)

So thank a cop, a firefighter, a paramedic, a mechanic, a plumber, a carpenter or anyone doing the job they are paid to do, and doing it well. Not all inclusive idol worship. Like all people, some are good, some not so much.
