Im going to treat myself to a nice rifle. My plan is to set it up for .280AI. I'm thinking I'd like to get into the ELR game and learn as much as I can about it. I have a choice between these 2 actions. What are the groups thoughts? The Kelbly would be the Promethius and I have several options with the Terminus.

The Terminus comparison to the Prometheus is the Zeus. I'd take the prometheus over the other Terminus options, and I'd take the Zeus over the Kelbly atlas options. Between the Zeus and Prometheus, choose between the minor feature differences and/or whichever you can find in stock today and/or whichever is cheapest.

I've read some horror stories about excessively long lead times ordering from Terminus, and maybe those are one-off cases, but I'd only buy a Terminus from a dealer that had one in stock at that moment.

Yeah I lucked into my action as I was not going to wait an unknown amount of time for one. They are out there you just need to search.

I have an impact and it's a toss between that and the zermatt for me. The CRF, mechanical extraction and swappable bolt heads has a lot of utility for a design. There's also a decent argument for removable top rails if you are interested in ELR and need more than 20 moa cant.
Yeah, of course I was joking. I actually just built my daughter her first PRS rifle on a Zermatt Origin and I am fairly impressed for the price. Considering my next lightweight .223 build for sniper matches on the Origin due to weight savings and value.

I have both and both are great quality.

Choose between the features that you want.

If both feature lists are equal, then choose which is in stock or whicever you smith likes better.

If that's equal still, then I'd have to pick Kelbly just for the customer service and prompt response from them. They are very easy to get a hold of and answer questions very quickly.

I’ve got a Kelbly Black Bear (same as Prometheus but flat bottom). It’s crazy smooth and the bolt lift is one of the nicest. I do think Terminus makes the best 60 degree action though. If you want a 90 degree the Kelby is pretty nice. Kelbly is a tank too.
