22 ARC Load Data

I didn’t see a thread that seemed to capture all the data in one place. A buddy gives me all his once fired. My dies should be here tomorrow. I’m hoping to match or get close to my 223 bolt gun loads in a gasser.

What loads are working for you guys? Velocities? Barrel length? Gas or Bolt gun?

You should probably edit your title to reflect gas or bolt gun. You'll get people posting load data in here without specifying in their post and could be misleading.

AR15, 20" RTR barrel, suppressed

28gr Ramshot TAC, 75gr ELDM, Hornady brass, CCI 450 - 3000fps

27gr TAC, 85 Hybrid, Hornady brass, CCI450 - 2850fps

I’ve got ladders loaded up with 75 ELDs and Varget, H4895, StaBall Match, CFE223, Leverevolution, and H4350.

I just need my barrel from Craddock.

why would you expect to "match or get close" to your bolt gun loads? the loads are several hundred fps different.

A 223 bolt action to be pushed to much higher pressure than a 22 arc ar15.

Ohhhh match speeds in 223 Remington with a 22 arc gas gun. Yeah you should be able to, the real place 22 arc shines though is using larger bullets, did you have a long freebore in the 223 with the ability to run 88s? I was shocked to find that the 88 eldm has a higher BC than the 108 eldm that's common in 6 arc but you can launch it ~200 fps faster out of a gas gun.

In looking at my 223 bolt gun velocities, I’m getting about 2,700 fps with a 75 ELD in a 16” bolt gun. With a 26” barrel, I’m getting 2,770 fps with an 88 ELD.

22 ARC should match or get close to those speeds with these bullets (75 ELD, 85 RDF, 85.5, and 88 ELD) depending on the bolt gun I’m comparing to.

If my ballistic calculator is to be trusted, steel and paper out to about 1,100 yards won’t really be able to tell the difference.
