Bolt wear

Hey I am looking to buy this MPA Matrix Pro II and get into PRS. Seller stated he had only around 100 rounds through it and mostly just dry fire. His reason for selling was he just not able to get into PRS. I requested a picture of the bolt face and chamber and this is what he sent. Just looking for a second opinion on wear. Overall the outside is pretty pristine. I appreciate the help and any other recommendations for this transaction.

That is a lot of grease... I'd drop it in kerosene overnight and blow it out with air the next day.

Doesn’t look like a lot of wear though. With that amount of grease and the seller's admission of dry-fire practice, looks like he was trying to smooth out the action.

Personally I would be looking for pitting caused by blown primer pockets. Ask him to clean it and look again.

It looks like the American Rifle Co CDG action (or branded for MPA). Even if the bolt face is in someway worn or damaged - it can be replaced. Bolt head and extractor are $175 direct from ARC. If it's a good price and seller can produce documentation when he bought it, I wouldn't let that stop the sale if everything is a good fit.

X2 on seeing it cleaned

Also get a pic of the back of the lugs without any grease

This could be dirt/debris… but if it’s gas cutting, I’d definitely pass:

Appears to be pitting to me. Why in the fuck don't people clean shit prior to selling or was it on purpose to conceal it?

Really Appreciate everyone’s advice, gonna ask for more pictures of the cleaned bolt face and lugs. My next question would be all those lines in the back of the chamber just dirt build up on a dirty gun or indicative of a lot more wear than ~100 rounds and some good amount of dry fire? He is selling the Matrix pro II, scope mount, bipod and vortex 3-36 for 4.9k. Looked like a great deal but wanted to do my due diligence. EDIT: here is the full album of photos with the chamber and bolt cleaned. He said he was running some AAC ammo smks, IDK if those are pretty soft brass. Pictures:

Maybe you're getting your terms mixed up, but there aren't any photos of the chamber.

The finish wear in the action is from use, I'm not familiar with that particular action/coating/tolerances etc, but it looks fairly worn in.

If have doubt and I can't inspect the rifle in person, I wouldn't buy it. Normal action wear is nothing I'd be worried about, you'll have a smother running action than if you brought it new.

I'd be worried about round count and if you'll have to rebarrel in the near future, not to mention the possible primer erosion on the bolt face and other issues mentioned by previously.

Added the photos in the edit above. Currently dealing with post approval delays.

Imgur fucking sucks, so do these photos

The chamber does look pretty clean and basically new, the nitride residue on the bolt is mostly intact (I don’t know how nitriding wears on a CDG), & nothing jumps out as being heavily worn… but take that with a grain of salt. You can’t really tell anything about the chamber, or really much of anything from those photos.

It looks fine to me. The backs of the lugs look brand new.

That first pic with all that pink grease looked sketchy as hell though lol. I've never put that much grease on a gun in my whole life.

I would maybe ask for a better pic of a cleaned-up bolt face; it looks like all the guy needs to do is spend 10 seconds with a Q-Tip and any old CLP, snap a clear pic, and that'd tell you everything you need to know.
