"Student Driver" stickers everywhere?

Something I've been seeing a lot more in the NOVA/MD/DC area are cars with "student driver" stickers whose occupants are definitely not student drivers. Typically have a shitload of anti-Trump/anti-US stickers and lots of pro-Biden/Harris, pro-Hamas, pro-Antifa, etc stickers. Sneaky way of self-identifying to other shitheads without being obvious to cops, conservatives, etc?

Interesting... because when I was taking Drivers Ed. in HS, the school's vehicles did not have any such "student driver" stickers. These cars were totally bland... no markers at all. This, I believe, to keep other drivers from harassing the student driver, out in traffic. I think only the professional driving schools would have "Student driver" on their vehicles.

And I haven't seen any such stickers in use, here in FL.

All of these are definitely private, non-"student" vehicles. Very rarely saw them before the 2024 election, now very common in the blue states (no increase in WV-tagged vehicles that I've noticed, which is what makes me wonder about them since WV is solid red surrounded by blue).

I see them regularly in central FL.

Yep, I too live in that area and almost every time I see that stupid bumper sticker there's a 45 y.o. driving it.

I kind of doubt that it’s a sneaky way of self-identifying, as all those other liberal stickers already does that in spades.

I definitely see many of them on the roads in FL. I think that most likely it’s a combo of parents being overprotective of their student drivers and those that think maybe you’ll avoid them or give them a pass for poor driving habits.

Edit:
It looks they are readily available online:

My oldest daughter drives a Hyundai accent, tiny little car. When I drive it, the thing I notice the most is that all the cunt drivers come out of the wood work around her car. Tailgating, and generally cunt like behavior. I should have bought her an SUV. My youngest drives an escape, and it doesn't have a gravitational draw for cunt drivers like the accent does.

And who are we to criticize anyway? We have our own monikers for such things.... Participated recently in a thread about the "Amish?" :ROFLMAO:

All over here in WV as well

Funny. I just got hit by a young driver today. I'm not sure that a student driver sticker would have prevented her from cutting me off and hitting my pickup in the process.
Yeah, a few years back my wife was hit while waiting in the left turn lane at a stoplight. A student driver, no sticker, misjudged the turn coming the other way and wrecked the car my wife had just rented 15 minutes before. The rental company was not amused.

Oh yes, in Broward, Dade and Palm beach, there are a shit ton of them. And the drivers are all way to old to be "student drivers". Maybe illegal alien first time drivers if anything.

I've been noticing them for the last few years. Mostly the Denver Metro area and now Central Florida. I think it's some attempt to keep other drivers from 'harassing' them because they're slow or cautions drivers and were likely getting the finger often because they can't get out of their own way. I've mostly seen them on elderly driver's cars. The fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf comes to mind. It's so overused that the stickers are likely useless at this point. Especially when you see one on a car and they drive like an asshat.

Learning to drive a manual transmission is an exercise in frustration. Anyone that says they’ve never stalled one at a busy intersection has either never learned or is a bald faced liar.

We bought our son a manual for his first car, and my wife insisted that he put one of those student driver magnets on his car. She and he butt heads under idyllic circumstances, so it fell to me to teach him. It never failed that 0.3 seconds after he stalled it at a light, the douche canoe behind him would lay on their horn. I got cramps in my hands from all of the drivers that I flipped off in his defense.

So one day we’re out practicing, and he stalls the car at a light. Like clock work, some douche canoe lays on their horn. I rolled down my window and let them know they’re number 1. So we get going and the car behind us pulls out and accelerates past (we’re in the middle lane of a 3 lane road). As she goes by, she looks over and starts pointing behind her. (I now take that as “I’m not the horn-blowing douche canoe.”) The car behind her came up beside us and the driver tried to “mean mug” me. Well, I gave as good as I got, and he straightened in his seat and faced forward as he drove past. Of course, being a cop, he was speeding as he cut us off when his lane turned into a right turn only.
