Timers - Kestrel or Shooters Global?

As a continuation of improvements for our PRS matches at Quantico, I'd like to invest in better timers (currently using the Comp Electronics). I'm considering the Kestrel and the Shooters Global SG2. I'd appreciate opinions from those who have used each. My concerns:

1. Start tone volume - I believe each has a loud signal for shooters. Interested in actual user experience.

2. Suppressed - The SG may have an edge here. Seeking opinions.

3. Integration with Practiscore - Both now integrate, but the need to remember to be in RO mode in the SG2 seems it could be an issue for operators.

Feel free to comment with experiences. I understand other timers may also do the same but we're limiting our purchase to the models mentioned. TIA.

I'm sure you tired of my voice but:

Switch to impact scoring. You don't need tablets, it's all updated real time and there is no arbitration or time after match is done tabulating scores and syncing tabs. Most PRS matches are moving towards this. It's much easier on the MD, RO and shooter. You can do scoring right from a cell phone..

You can't really go wrong with either the SG or the Kestrel. Both are awesome timers and super durable. The comp timers work so I wouldn't replace them until you have made every other upgrade to range ( construct new props, 100% locking hangers, ar500 tposts, and automatic tposts driver).

Guys shooting super quiet cans are not really competitive for the scoring to matter so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Brakes or braked cans dominate for a reason. It's too much of a handicap to not run one. RO just needs to get close enough to pick it up.

kestrel is much louder on its loudest setting
- I'd say a good 20-40% louder

Other than that, they are about equal

if cost is an issue, the SG Timer Go is a solid option, only somewhat issue is you need a phone to program it
- these are a little more new RO friendly as well, as it's just 1 button

Just shot a Pro match that had lots of kestrel timers. Honestly, most of the ROs seemed overwhelmed by them. I have one and it’s not hard to learn but it has the characteristic (shitty?)user interface of Kestrel devices. On that experience, I would not recommend unless you have a pretty regular and devoted RO corps.

Exactly my thought also. Looking at each, the menus can be overwhelming, but we would set them up before the match for the ROs (which are not a dedicated group). I too dislike the Kestrel interface, but the SG seems to have their own challenges with RO mode and an unfamiliar user.

ETA - Just noticed the Kestrel requires 2x CR123.
