So actual threat? Or USSS trying to act like they saved the world?

Or door number 3…. A straight up scam that is going viral on the Interwebz?

IMG_1595.jpeg

CNN is reporting as legit.

This can be used for swatting or scam calls or simply a giant DOS attack.

Bet this cost real money… possible precursor to something?

Thank goodness it was not on a sloped roof, or they never would have been able to take it down!

On a serious note, the “unsung” side of the USSS that does counterfeit and financial crime stuff are the real workhorses of the service. Executive protection is all the glory slots. But this stuff is what they “do.”

Now, who ran it… and why?

Who ran it? What org. donates the most to terrorist orgs? Blender knows, LOL

Funny. Just a few months ago they were lacking the skills required to walk on a slightly sloping roof. Completely incapable of walking a fence line to a golf course and utterly incapable of even the most basic security skills.

What a magical transformation.
Did they replace all the president murdering leftist shills? Where did they find the personnel to swap out 90% of the agents?

Chances are it's a text spam service where folks send out spam advertisement texts by the millions (much like spam e-mail).
Uniforms always like to play up the fear and danger angle to justify their budgets and doing nothing about actual threats.

But chances are it was primarily a text spam operation and you know the same low lifes that run it, probably had drugs and guns because well, if you are in to one criminal enterprise, might as well do a few at the same time.

Hopefully this stops the calls and texts every day about my small business loan they need to finalize.
I was thinking the same thing. I have been receiving multiple calls and texts per day for this and the “IRS police department” and variations of the same for months now. 90% are from various tiny unheard of NY locations.

You often have to wonder, if there are cases where a LEO of some variety perhaps stumbles onto something suspicious, and finds charges to place on someone, and it comes off looking like harassment, or cops being dicks, but the thing about stopping something big, is that we never find out what we were saved from.

Imagine if the powers that be had managed to stop 9/11. We never would know what we avoided. They could tell us "these guys were going to do this, and that, and it would be awful", but we would never really, truly, know what horrors we were saved from. Telling us what they planned to do, doesn't have the same effect as the impact the actual even did have on us.

So perhaps they got lucky, and stumbled onto something shady, and the story is what it is. If the USSS hasn't found this, what sort of event maybe, just posssibly, could have occured if they hadn't found it.

Secret Service Busts Massive Network Used in Swatting Attacks Against Marjorie Taylor Greene, Other Republicans

The Secret Service has uncovered a vast network of over 100,000 SIM cards and 300 servers in the New York area, believed to be used by foreign “nation-state threat actors” and criminals for swatting calls targeting prominent conservatives including Marjorie Taylor Greene. The amount of hardware seized in the bust could be used to hamper cell service in New York City.

The Secret Service was dancing on top of the building at Charlie Kirk’s funeral, with the President, Vice President, and the entire cabinet inside the building.
The team dancing and playing grab ass on top of the building were idiots and were hopefully dinged hard for being stupid. Hopefully even pulled from being operational in that role.

But they were not Secret Service.

What do you think?
What do I think?

I think people do stupid shit.

Stupid shit like dancing on a building while out of position and on the job.

Also people do stupid shit like parroting other stupid shit reports that are inaccurate.
Spreading everything you read on the internet as gospel and being too lazy to vet the information beforehand makes you just as much of a goober as the two knuckleheads dancing on the roof in the first place.

I have been slumming and watching some streaming TV on the kids accounts lately. There is no shortage of packs of special forces women, super alphabet agencies and all star clandestine task forces saving us and the world every day. Literally as regular as my daily cup of coffee they foil a plan to end us all.

i hear you. same thing in books. 100s of novels where the mil, cia, fbi, cops,ss save someone/everyone from some terrible event. some have a lot of real stuff in them. i suspect authors get a lot of help from various agencies if the promise to make them look good is followed.
awareness of guns often lacking. a lot read like "his 38 revolver had the safety off" type ignorance.

Was that not the original mission of the USSS? Counterfeit currency crime and the like? Isn't that why Lincoln created them under the Dept. of the Treasury, just before he was assassinated (said assassination leading to the Presidential protection branch)?

Executive protection is all the glory slots. But this stuff is what they “do.”

Wow.
I read a good bit and almost all of my books are where common people are fighting against those same rogue ABC agencies that came off the tracks!

some have a lot of real stuff in them.
Same in my books above!

Yup… Lincoln’s “security” was Pinkerton and some army types. But as he was at the play with an officer and his wife and the war was over, he didn’t think he needed security.

Though even if he had security with him, in all likelihood, they would’ve left John Wilkes Booth through because he was such a famous actor.

Just wasn’t Lincoln’s night! The Secret Service was charged with protecting the president afterwards.
