Cutting a manners varbon fiber stock.

I would rather use a router table and a carbide burr for that job.

I have cut poly finished wood stocks on a table saw without damage to the finish. Thin 80 TPI blade. Wrap stock with painters tape. Not sure how that would work with carbon Fiber.

I have an MCST carbon stock I need to take about 1/4-1/2" off thr the LOP. Is a table saw going to chip it all up if i use it to cut the stock?

Sheel will cut easy, in shop they are cut on band saw then belt sanded square and true, keep the heat down, depending on the construction of that particular mcs-t, you might run into the lightweight fill ( the mcs-t stocks all have about 3/4 of heavy fill for pad attachment) If so no worries, shoot me a pm, I can walk you thru it, or would be more than happy to shorten if you want to send it in. We would also redo the finish so it's perfect.

I vote you take tom up on this offer. I have sent plenty of manners stocks in to be shortened. The cost is lost and the craftsmanship is high!

It has a 1" pad so maybe I will cut the pad off and fit a new 1/2" pad. I guess I might just cut the pad down 1/4" at a time. 🤔🤔 it's a 280 though so eventually I will probably want to get it back to a 1" pad.

I know you guys will always work on your stocks but working on things myself puts them on my timeframe. 🤣🤣

They are quick, I sent in a PRS1 to get the adjustable LOP kit and have them fix the forend/install the archers for a 419 arca rail. I think it was less than two weeks from door to door, if I remember correctly.
