First, you didn't search well. There have been dozens of posts and comparisons between these two slings.
Second, you can't go wrong with either one. They are both well made and great slings. I run the TAB, but I also run a biathalon sling.

While the TAB is a great sling, I much prefer the TIS. I am much more comfortable with it since I have been using it for a long time.
I don't think you can go wrong with either, though. Both will serve you great for a long time.

TAB Sling! I've had both and the TAB is much easier to use and you do not have to worry where your quick cuff is in your pack. The customer service is also spectacular.

I have always liked the TIS slings but the new slip cuff just rocks. I have switched out all my bolt rife slings to the new TIS slip cuff style.

I will second this. The customer service at rifles only is great. I ordered a hook set for the TAB sling right around New Years and received an email, I believe on new years day, that shipping would be delayed till Monday because of the holiday.
I consider that information a given but stellar that anyone there even checked their email on the holiday, let alone was nice enough to email me about it in case I was expecting it to ship regardless. Pretty good.

This question is asked like either TAB or I/TIS make only one sling. We both a make many different styles/versions. Get out and try the various versions from both companies. Learn to use a sling and then buy what works best for you.

I learned how to use a 1907 sling. It was an easy transition to the TIS, which I love.

My vote is for TAB, great product and great customer service. I think its a little easier to use than the TIS, but either will get the job done.

My vote is to buy one of each. You will most likely need more than one sling and they are both top notch. Use them both ALOT then decide. You won't lose much reselling either one here on the Hide plus have the satisfaction that you have the best one for you.

I have TIS's on my rifles and my son has a TAB he won for shooting smiley's. I never carried a TAB on deployment so I cannot attest to it's strengths or weaknesses but the one I held is of superb build and quality. My TIS's have been in the sands of Afghanistan and came back with minor issues on the material but did their job, and still do. All my rifles have TIS slings, but that is because TAB wasn't making slings when I got them.
I am also a little biased to home turf so I nod toward the slings from Oakland, CA

I've got several TIS slings and they are outstanding. The company is also awesome.
I haven't tried the TAB slings yet but I hear very good things about them also. You won't go wrong with either product or company.

I have the tab with plastic buckles. It's a great sling for the money, if your on a budget.

Tactical pointed out they both TIS and TAB make different sling models. Buy the model that best suits you from each maker and see what you like better, then sell the other one. I have both at home. I prefer the TIS personally, but they are both great slings. TIS has great customer service.

TIS also has a biathlon sling. I love mine. So if the reason you choose a TAB is because of the biathlon option, know that Mike has one too.

The best thing to do is buy and try both, I did that and found out that both slings are a great buy which ever you choose. I personally like the TIS slightly better just because the nylon seems a little softer and doesnt feel so stiff and pinch my hand when I shoot in the prone position.

Another +1 for TIS... Have had great CS from Mike & the slings fit my style to a "T"! I run the quick cuff models on all of my rifles. I have yet to hear any negative reviews on the TAB slings or CS either though and look forward to giving them a try. I'd have to agree with the others who suggested picking the style that fits your needs & picking up one of each. Both hold their resale value extremely well and rarely last long in the sales section of this forum!

I have a TIS and LOVE it. I haven't had a TAB so I can't speak for that product other than to write that I've seen great reviews for it and am sure it is a fine product. I got the TIS Quick Cuff Model 1 and it is great. Well made, great hardware, excellent fit & finish. As far as customer service, I called TIS at what was a normal hour on east coast time (but really early west coast [Sorry Mike]). Despite the hour, Mike was up and super gracious. He spoke with me and helped me determine the right sling and attachements for my purposes. I can't ssy enough about his customer service, other than he has a customer for life. Not sure what you mean by this. Are you asking about the swivels that are used to attache the sling to the rifle, or if all the hardware on the sling is metal?
The only TAB or TIS sling that I know of that is ALL metal is the TIS Slip Cuff. The TAB family has plastic slider in the cuff and plastic side-release buckles. The TIS Quick Cuff and Slip Cuff Quick Release have plastic side release buckles as well.

I haven't used the TIS but I can say that TAB would be hard to beat. I love mine, and the CS is top notch.

They are both very well made pieces of kit. I have both. It would be to your advantage to handle and try both. My preference isn't the issue here, it's what fits you and you like.
I have found that recommendations here are good guidelines, but nothing beats putting your hands on the gear and judge for yourself.

I have nothing against TAB slings, I have just never used one. I have TIS slip cuffs (and the QR slip cuffs) and they have served me so well I never thought to look anywhere else. They are exactly what I need, and are perfect for my needs.
I think this is one of those deals where you can't go wrong with either. But I'm perfectly happy with all of the TIS slings I've bought, and an fully confident in them.
