Guys,

just updated the post.

Keep in mind you will have a pop-up range out to 1200m to engage targets that will test your ability to run the rifle.

This is a great class for all skill levels and you will learn alot.

I'm looking into the July 10th date. Just need to confirm my schedule first.

Re: (NC) Advanced Mil-Dot Training Dates 2011

Thanks guys.

Its a great course and you will learn alot.

The main thing students tell me this class brings it all together for them. after training training from my company or others.

John- I noticed on the competition board that you moved your competitions to the day before each of the training days. Any chance you thought about switching those so folks could use the training day as a train-up for the comp on the following day?

Shooting the Butner 1200yd pop-ups looks like it will be a ton of fun!

No sir, because that gives that person a advantage over everyone else. I think a shooter learns more by shooting a comp cold and has to solve the target challenges with the skill set you bring to the table.

Once you ID the challenges you have, then you can get the training that fits your needs and work on what you need to work on.

Also by doing this it tells you if the training you paid for was worth the cost because it made you a better shooter, not train you to shoot a match.

I have a belief and its simple.

I do not train students to pass a test, I train them to project their will onto the target.

More detail:

When I train students to shoot a firearm I train them to their best ability. The skill sets I offer will allow a student to problem solve and execute the task because of the quality of training. No matter the test, you will perform.

Please keep the questions coming.

John
I do not train students to pass a test, I train them to project there will onto the target.

Sir,

Any rifle that can hold 1 MOA, with a optic with a MILRAD reticle is just fine. 200rnds or so, Mil-Dot master and a note book is all that is needed.

You can bring more if you like. A spotter and so on.

If you have any other questions keep asking ok.

Thanks for the interest and the question.

Re: (NC) Advanced Mil-Dot Training Dates 2011

I'm planning on attending the class and the comp from the day before. What's the estimated round count between the two?

Re: (NC) Advanced Mil-Dot Training Dates 2011

Sir,

200rnds will work for both. but I would bring 300rnds at least. We will have alot of time to shoot after the match for fun, and also during the class.

John- I just got a call that I have family coming in on Sunday and I need to be back here for that. I won't be able to make this class but I'm still on for the competition on Saturday. I'll plan on attending one of your future dates in the fall.
