we could do that but you will be pissed when you burn up the barrel. targets will be big enough 223/308 will have NO issues!!! it will be more about speed than pure accuracy. think 45%ipsc at 200yds and 66% at 400, 100%ipsc if farther than 400yds. probably round count around 100-150ish.

Re: SHWW Group

Hell, barrels are meant to be toasted. As long as that 100-150 rounds is spread over a few stages I'd run it.

might let it open up but only if not enough 308 223 shooters, there will be almost zero advantage for better ballistics in this case. in fact might be worth it to allow magnums just so i can see the barrels glowing red at the end of a stage.

Hey Guys, if you're looking for an awesome 22LR training rifle, this time sensitive post is something you should seriously look at.

Re: SHWW Group

Dibbs,
What did you do with the hide from the Bobcat? It would make a beautiful Sporran for use with a kilt.

For those who don't know, the only sporran (pouch worn in the front of a kilt, like a pocket) that is traditionally acceptable for both day, evening, formal, or informal is the animal face sporran. That is a sporran with the animal's face on it...

If M3 would get my can here so I could get the ball rolling then I'll be down when the ATF get's done with it's now 8 month timeline... lol

Re: SHWW Group

Well crap, looks like I'm getting shoulder surgery for partially torn rotator cuff april 17th... Looks like I'll be coming and doing a lot of RO work instead of shooting for a month or two after that and my business is going to get pushed back a few weeks! Looking at first week in May most likely... :-/

If any of you guys are wanting a suppressor, Travis @ Rbros is putting in an order for Thunder Beast. The more people in on the order the better, just a heads up.

Re: SHWW Group

Well,

I'm finally moved completely into my new place. Now I just gotta unpack everything. Finally got some wood so I can build my new reloading bench. Which is a must since I don't have any ammo and need to reload some so I can go shoot .... LOL. Plus, I still need to rezero my scope since I put on the shorter rings.

I HATE moving.

The good thing is, I am closer to the range. So Broker, you want to try and meet up at the Poulsbo Range maybe this weekend and punch some holes??

Re: SHWW Group

This weekend is a little rough for me. I'm probably going to be out Saturday doing something with the wife for her Birthday and Sunday I'll have to spend playing catch-up on the work form Saturday. Friday would be easier. I might be able to do Sunday, but it all depends on what comes up Saturday while I'm MIA...

Where did you move to BTW?

Re: SHWW Group

Hey all. Just doing some reloading for my new .260 rem.

I just realized that the basic RCBS seater is giving me slightly worse than unacceptable runout. The bullets shape just doesn't line up with the seater cup.

I tried modifying the shape of the seater without good results. I'm going to call RCBS in the morning.

Does anyone have a favorite seating die that won't break the bank?

Re: SHWW Group

Thanks guys.

I'll be ordering a set from midway today.

After checking my sized brass this morning, I see the runout problem is starting there. Never had a problem with my .308 rcbs dies, but this .260 set is not right.

Re: SHWW Group

Really hard to beat the Redding Competition dies,... especially the 3-die (S-Type) set that includes a BODY DIE for bumping the shoulder, a NECK DIE that allow you to insert neck-bushings for total control of the amount of tension and the depth of neck sizing, and a SEAT DIE that has a micrometer top for total control of the seating depth. They're pricey, but are REALLY nice to have.

Yes, MM509 I got yours finished, and it has everything but a cup holder.
Thanks SScott

Craig, looks like you better practice with that 223 of yours, in case The Paw shows up. On a side note, Scott your bags worked really good, not sure if I ever mentioned it to you.

See you all Sunday

Re: SHWW Group

****T-POST BRACKET UPDATE****

Hey guys, well we have two designs we are working with right now. And I must say I am very happy with what I am seeing. I got to test them both out thursday. I hit them each 20 times at 50 yards with my 308. They worked great!!!!

One of the t post brackets is a piece of 10 gage angle iron. I am butting a custom rectangular piece of 10 gage tubing to the back side. Drilling holes, mounting the plate and hanging it on the t post. It does not spin, holds nice and tight.

They are fairly light weight which is a awesome thing! and they see no abuse because there is a AR500 steel target in front which takes all the impact.

The other design, which I might end up going with, is the same 10 gage angle iron, and I am butting up a custom piece of 10 gage steel angle iron with a 52.5 degree angle. This allow it to slide right over the T post for a super fit. again wont spin and creates a very nice fit with standard medium duty T posts.

I will have some for purchase next week.

I will post some pictures and ask for some advice come early next week. Stay tuned.

I am thinking roughly 7-8 will fit into one flat rate box.
