After the rain settled down today the weather was perfect for some shooting and took my rifle and me out to 700 for the first time, before today the farthest I've ever shot was 400 and that was a few weeks ago. I was shooting my 284 win. 162 grain amax over 55 grains of H4831sc, seated to mag length in a short action. Very slight wind maybe 3-5 blowing straight down range no left to right, every once in a while would gust maybe to 10.
These two are at 500. The first pic has six rounds on target, because I thought I missed one but it nicked the side of the target on the left side almost center vertically. The second pic has five rounds in succession that was done later on after making it to 700.
This one is at 600 yards. Five rounds on target and missed two shots. The two in the center almost touching were the first two shots.
Then the farthest I could reach where I was 700 yards, was very happy when my first three shots banged the steel. Then missed a the next two shots, then connected two more times.
Overall I was very happy with the shooting, not the best compared to other people, but was pretty good being my first time. No time for some more practice and need to learn to read the wind.
