I've refrained from having, let alone voicing these thoughts for so many years. But those sand-dwelling bastards deserve to have their land invaded by every nation in the world who's had allied soldiers buried there. The bodies exhumed and brought back to their home country. And then, to finish it off and show their appreciation for them having the 'freedom' (Non-nazi regime) that they have, CARPET-BOMB THE BASTARDS into the glass age. We should just pull out (personnel, money, medical supplies...support of any kind) of every city in the world dominated by folks of this religious bent, erect walls around them, and shoot any rat bastard who tries to get out. Let them live their miserable lives out in ignorance and filth without the ability to infest the rest of the world. By not giving them aid, those lives could be measured in months.
They shouldn't mind, since they don't hesitate to kill each other, claiming they are just sending them to paradise.

I'm generally very tolerant of other cultures and their "mistakes", never have I felt such an intolerable need to nuke someone. These were men who died for their freedom from genocide and oppression, and that's the way they thank them, by desecrating their graves. People like this really don't deserve to live on this Earth.

Yep. Can somebody please articulate for me what national interest our intervention in Libya was supposed to serve? Is the plan to create a string of countries from Syria to Egypt to Libya for the muslim brotherhood to control? If so, that plan is working pretty well.

My grandma served in the RAF in WW2 with both my grandpas (US Navy) and I’m sorry but what they are doing just shows how ignorant and stupid these people really are. They believe its ok for them to do things like this or bomb mosques (along with the qurans inside) but if someone else does it then it must mean war. I have to agree that those buried there wouldn’t mind one bit that it gets bombed to make those guilty of desecrating their grave and the graves of their fallen brothers die. It’s stupid we tip toe around this shit, I’m all for just bombing the hell out of the country and not giving any aid in the future.

Im probably going to go on vacation, but I will explain, it was so "the one" could look tough concerning National Security, he figured it would be an easy "route".Because as being made apparent, hes decisions in Astan have been a complete and total cluster fuck to date. Also probably figured come election season he could stand up and say he help free a country from a "radical dictator" in months, instead of what President Bush did, took years. the one was receiving flak for taking 24hrs to act on osama and needed to act in Libya so he could look decisive, try to come off as a leader. Remember no president in a time of war has been voted out of office.

I wonder, if the actions of these assholes represent the entirety of Islam do the actions of raping Catholic priests represent the entirety of Christianity? As a Christian who's never raped anyone, I'd say not. I dare say there are more Muslims who've never killed anyone or knocked over a gravestone than the ones who have.
I don't remember Libya being 'liberated'. It had a civil war. One in which the West took a somewhat back seat in. As for the idea that 'The One' did what he did to look tough, c'mon. He got critized by the 'conservatives' for not doing enough!

Libya apologises for desecration of British war graves

The Libyan government has been extremely apologetic about the appalling desecration of British second world war graves in the eastern city of Benghazi, a Foreign Office minister said on Sunday.
The statement of regret came after video footage emerged showing graves in a British military cemetery in the city being destroyed by what appears to be an Islamist militia.
The video, shot by the militia themselves, shows more than 30 armed men kicking down the gravestones of British servicemen while others use sledgehammers to break the cenotaph.
"Break the cross of the dogs," one man can be heard shouting as another soldier perches on a ladder to smash the cenotaph cross with a mallet.
The Foreign Office said more than 200 headstones and the Cross of Remembrance in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery in Benghazi were deliberately damaged on 24 and 26 February. About a quarter of the headstones in Benghazi military cemetery were also damaged. The Foreign Office has raised the matter with the Libyan government and local police.
More than 1,200 Commonwealth soldiers and airmen are buried in Benghazi. Of the 1,051 identified graves, 851 are British. Many were members of the 7th Armoured Division – the Desert Rats – which played a key role in fighting for control of Libya and Egypt between 1941 and 1943.
Foreign Office minister Jeremy Browne said people would be understandably upset by images of damaged graves. But he said the attacks appeared to be part of a wider desecration and were not confined to British or Christian graves. Nor did they represent a response to last year's military action when British aircraft took part in a campaign that helped topple Colonel Gaddafi, he added.
"There is an appalling story and people will be shocked by the photos," he told the Murnaghan programme on Sky News . "My grandfather's generation were truly heroic in that part of Africa in the second world war and I think people will be shocked by what they see.
"It is worth saying the Libyan authorities themselves are shocked too. We have had direct dealings with them. They have been extremely apologetic and made a very strong commitment they will get to the bottom of this happening. They will try and do everything they can to resolve it."
He added: "I would not want people to think this is somehow an ingratitude by the government of Libya. That's not the case."
In a statement on its website, the National Transitional Council expressed deep regret at the desecration which it "strongly condemned".
A Commonwealth War Graves Commission spokesman said headstones had been broken and disfigured in both the Benghazi war cemetery and the Benghazi British military cemetery.
"Both cemeteries will be restored to a standard befitting the sacrifice of those commemorated at Benghazi, but this could take some time because we will need to source replacement stones," he said. "We will also need to be sure that it's safe for the detailed work to be carried out, but in the meantime we will ensure that temporary markers are erected over the graves."
No militia has claimed responsibility for the desecration, but Libyan sources say the dress and comments of those filmed suggest a jihadist brigade.
"We don't support this action," said Farouk Ben Ahmeda, a militiaman in Misrata. "This is a sin. These guys are messing up the revolution."
One of the most prominent of the handful of Islamist militias in Libya, the Omar Mukghtar Brigade, condemned the attack. "Whoever did this attack was wrong," said spokesman Abdul Jawad Albaree. "Whoever did it wants to destroy whatever relations Libya has with Britain."

The other nationalities of the graves at this site are Canadian and Australian. AFAIK there are no US graves as this is a Commonwealth graveyard.
Benghazi War Cemetery to be fully restored

It's now reported from Benghazi that two Commonwealth War Graves cemeteries have been damaged in attacks over the weekend - both the Benghazi War Cemetery and now the Benghazi British Military Cemetery. We are awaiting a detailed report but in both cemeteries, headstones were broken and disfigured. Both cemeteries will be restored to a standard befitting the sacrifice of those commemorated at Benghazi, but this could take some time because we will need to source replacement stones. We will also need to be sure that it's safe for the detailed work to be carried out, but in the meantime we will ensure that temporary markers are erected over the graves. We have no reports of any maintenance staff being injured in the attack.
There are 1214 Commonwealth servicemen of the Second World war buried or commemorated in the Benghazi War Cemetery. 163 of the burials are unidentified. Special memorials commemorate two casualties buried in Barce War Cemetery, whose graves could not be located. The Benghazi British Military Cemetery has 284 burials, eleven of them unidentified. The graves are of servicemen and women who died in the region in the years following the Second War.

The Libyan government has been extremely apologetic about the appalling desecration of British second world war graves in the eastern city of Benghazi, a Foreign Office minister said on Sunday.
The statement of regret came after video footage emerged showing graves in a British military cemetery in the city being destroyed by what appears to be an Islamist militia.
The video, shot by the militia themselves, shows more than 30 armed men kicking down the gravestones of British servicemen while others use sledgehammers to break the cenotaph.
"Break the cross of the dogs," one man can be heard shouting as another soldier perches on a ladder to smash the cenotaph cross with a mallet.
The Foreign Office said more than 200 headstones and the Cross of Remembrance in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery in Benghazi were deliberately damaged on 24 and 26 February. About a quarter of the headstones in Benghazi military cemetery were also damaged. The Foreign Office has raised the matter with the Libyan government and local police.
More than 1,200 Commonwealth soldiers and airmen are buried in Benghazi. Of the 1,051 identified graves, 851 are British. Many were members of the 7th Armoured Division – the Desert Rats – which played a key role in fighting for control of Libya and Egypt between 1941 and 1943.
Foreign Office minister Jeremy Browne said people would be understandably upset by images of damaged graves. But he said the attacks appeared to be part of a wider desecration and were not confined to British or Christian graves. Nor did they represent a response to last year's military action when British aircraft took part in a campaign that helped topple Colonel Gaddafi, he added.
"There is an appalling story and people will be shocked by the photos," he told the Murnaghan programme on Sky News . "My grandfather's generation were truly heroic in that part of Africa in the second world war and I think people will be shocked by what they see.
"It is worth saying the Libyan authorities themselves are shocked too. We have had direct dealings with them. They have been extremely apologetic and made a very strong commitment they will get to the bottom of this happening. They will try and do everything they can to resolve it."
He added: "I would not want people to think this is somehow an ingratitude by the government of Libya. That's not the case."
In a statement on its website, the National Transitional Council expressed deep regret at the desecration which it "strongly condemned".
A Commonwealth War Graves Commission spokesman said headstones had been broken and disfigured in both the Benghazi war cemetery and the Benghazi British military cemetery.
"Both cemeteries will be restored to a standard befitting the sacrifice of those commemorated at Benghazi, but this could take some time because we will need to source replacement stones," he said. "We will also need to be sure that it's safe for the detailed work to be carried out, but in the meantime we will ensure that temporary markers are erected over the graves."
No militia has claimed responsibility for the desecration, but Libyan sources say the dress and comments of those filmed suggest a jihadist brigade.
"We don't support this action," said Farouk Ben Ahmeda, a militiaman in Misrata. "This is a sin. These guys are messing up the revolution."
One of the most prominent of the handful of Islamist militias in Libya, the Omar Mukghtar Brigade, condemned the attack. "Whoever did this attack was wrong," said spokesman Abdul Jawad Albaree. "Whoever did it wants to destroy whatever relations Libya has with Britain."

The other nationalities of the graves at this site are Canadian and Australian. AFAIK there are no US graves as this is a Commonwealth graveyard.
Benghazi War Cemetery to be fully restored

It's now reported from Benghazi that two Commonwealth War Graves cemeteries have been damaged in attacks over the weekend - both the Benghazi War Cemetery and now the Benghazi British Military Cemetery. We are awaiting a detailed report but in both cemeteries, headstones were broken and disfigured. Both cemeteries will be restored to a standard befitting the sacrifice of those commemorated at Benghazi, but this could take some time because we will need to source replacement stones. We will also need to be sure that it's safe for the detailed work to be carried out, but in the meantime we will ensure that temporary markers are erected over the graves. We have no reports of any maintenance staff being injured in the attack.
There are 1214 Commonwealth servicemen of the Second World war buried or commemorated in the Benghazi War Cemetery. 163 of the burials are unidentified. Special memorials commemorate two casualties buried in Barce War Cemetery, whose graves could not be located. There are also 25 non-Commonwealth burials at Benghazi, one being an unidentified Greek soldier.
