Im doing a Rem 700 .223 build on a AICS system. Will shoot mostly 100-200 yards, and looking for scope advice. Dont want to break the bank, top end of my budget is $500-600 but would prefer less than that.

Want a min of 15x to something in 18x if it was more fine, but no need.

Any advice? Opinions?

Vortex PST 4-16

$650 bucks, awesome scope for the price, comes with zero stop. I have it on my AR and it really is a great scope. They're hard to come by but I buy all my scopes from www.bearbasinoutfitters.com and they always have things in stock. They also have lay away and finance plans. You can try cameraland, eurooptics etc... all the ones mentioned here on this site but most places are out are theres a long waiting list.

i hear that is a nice scope but that is more than i want to spend. worst case i would go between 500-600 shipped etc, but would really prefer to be less. like to keep it below 500

Save your money then, otherwise you'll just be getting something less than you'll want.
That said, I have been fairly impressed by the low end Bushnell elites, and Falcon menace's of the world. They may work for you, but know you will be replacing them.

The guy said he's only shooting 200Y max.

Get a SWFA SS 6x42, 10x42, 16x42 or 20x42. All are $299 new, and you can probably find one for less in the classifieds.

I second that. My AICS'd 223AI used to be a Sps Tactical 223 and at 500yds I was right at the edge with the SS 3-9, SS10x, and Weaver Tactical 3-10? Midway sells exclusively. Any of those scopes would be great at 300yds.
