Re: SHWW Group

Sorry for the loss of your sidekick.

Our 9 year old Lab has been going down hill. Seizures and the other health problems that come with getting old.

I'm dreading the day when we have to make a decision.

Re: SHWW Group

I've got 5K Federal 205M's that I bought from JTP a couple years ago IIRC. I'd like to trade them for CCI 450 primers. I spose I'd even trade them for greenbacks. We could do a FTF @ the Ellensburg shoot next month, meet in the Spokane area, or ???? Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Re: SHWW Group

Tribe I feel for you man !
Always hard as hell when that day comes even though we know its for the best. I've had two dogs reach 16 and each time I still wasn't ready...Figured I get a little tougher but not when it comes to my dogs.
Best wishes to you and your family.

Anybody planning any impromptu practice before Findlay ?

Re: SHWW Group

Rather funny thing happened yesterday on a job site.
A rather attractive young lady (mid 20's) walks into the kitchen where I was installing a sink.
She stands there for a few seconds, then says"wow that is big" short pause, "and it's so black". I looked at her in disbelief and crawled back under the sink, speechless..

Re: SHWW Group

Now Im speechless Jim.

How could she see through those thick Carhartt overalls?

mike your "happy time" consists of sitting in your car near the middle school with a bag of old halloween candy.

the day that you buy an ice cream truck is the day that i will un-friend you

....so in that moment... how many times did you re-weigh the pros & cons of your next utterance, prior to denying all of your primal instincts, and crawling back into your hole?

In plumber's lingo...is a short circuit the same thing as a pipe bursting?

Re: SHWW Group

spent a long day at the gun club today shorting my check off list.
Rory got the 300 yard mover running in bullet proof mode today.
I asked Shyla if she wanted to try the mover with a cobbled together 700 ADL in 243 wearing a POS 2-7 Redfield with duplex.
She hadn't fired this rifle at all so I had her dry fire one time, then told her how to ambush the mover using the heavy to thin taper as a POA.
Missed the first, then pasted it twice in a row. She continued to smack it silly with the remainder of the box of ammo, well less the T.O.O.
Every time one of you misses the mover at the match, just remember how easy it really is :)

Re: SHWW Group

If any of you mugs has a FN L1A1 type that takes metric mags i found a 5 rounder from a long ago rifle. FREE to the first one that wants it.

Re: SHWW Group

you guys never even got my pun, isn't JTP always on short circuit? Short get it short...
never-mind sorry Jim

Re: SHWW Group

Hey guys,

I thought I'd drop by here as it's nice to see fellow shooters from the home state. Anyway, I hope to meet some of you down the road as it's always nice having friends with like interests as well as knowledge of life here in the PNW.

Sincerely,

K9-

Re: SHWW Group

Re: SHWW Group

Want to thank the guys and gal that have been helping with match set up this weekend. They have taken a load of work off me.
I must have felt I owed them some how or another, so I put on a spectacular show for 5 of them today.
I rolled my 4 wheeler while trying to traverse a steep hill. After the second roll over, the 4 wheeler, still running, landed on its tires and headed down the draw. I had to hustle my fat ass after it as it was a long way to the bottom and I wasn't gonna walk out! I was however very happy that all 5 people got to see it happen.
So If you see me limping a bit this weekend, now you know why :)

You didn't have to readjust the tripod because it was set for a short guy?

Re: SHWW Group

JTP, glad you are all right. Chasing after an out of control four wheeler is only better than being chased by one.

Everyone, good shooting at the match!

Re: SHWW Group

FYI
Wenatchee craigslist farm & garden section has fence post listed for $3 each. Just in case any of you are getting the t-post brackets from jcvibby

Re: SHWW Group

Great pic! One of my most cherished possessions is this bad picture of me and my grandpa heading down to the river to shoot .22LR's. I must have been five when this was taken, but I still remember those times.

Re: SHWW Group

Brackets will be available this weekend. You guys are going to really dig them. They will come complete with Grade 8 hardware bolts and nuts, lock washers, little spikey washers, and a T-Post bracket for $18 each. As this is a one time local special. I probably will be about $18-22 on the actual prices. Not sure yet but they are well worth the $22. They are really nice!!! And all the hardware...Its a steal of a deal.

I have them available in 6,9, and 12 inch sizes. Each with slots to accomodate different bolts spacings.

Please remember to get the medium duty T posts with the slightly longer T's.

If you want some please let me know so I can bring them to the match.

Re: SHWW Group

If anyone is going to the match from the Spokane area and wouldn't mind picking up one or more of these from Jake please let me know and I'll arrange payment.

I'm in Newman Lake, (about 50 yards from Cabela's) east of Spokane but will drive to meet up.

please PM

Re: SHWW Group

Hey all, I'm making plans for heading up to the match and had a few questions.

What has the historic max range of shots been? Any guesses on round count from the heli?

I'll be coming into Yakima on Hwy 12. Last trip I took 97 out of Ellensburg. If the passes are crappy, can I make better time in a little car going east through George-Quincy-Trinidad?

Thanks guys, can't hardly wait!

Re: SHWW Group

For all you local guys interested in the T-Post brackets this weekend.

Here are the bolt spacings so you know what one to get.

6 inch T-Post bracket-Can mount with holes in a 3.5-4.5 Center to center hole spacing.

9 inch T-Post bracket-Can mount with holes in a 5.5-7.5 Center to center hole spacing.

12 inch T-Post bracket-Can mount with holes in a 7.5-10.5 center to center holes spacing.

The nine inch will eventually have 4.5-7.5 center to center holes spacing but not on this first batch. Sorry!!

Thanks for the interest guys.

It's really about sixes. The quincy route is a bit longer in miles but the speeds are higher and the road conditions better. But Blewett should be in good shape on friday or saturday. I'd say go over the pass unless the weather is bad. That's my experience anyway.

Re: SHWW Group

I sent the bi-pod modification instructions out to someone, but forgot to retain a copy. If the modifications didn't come through, please let me know...

I drive Yakima to Wenatche every 4 or 5 weeks. I always take Blewett regardless of weather. Mostly because going through Quincy is completely boring. As said above, the pass should be no problem this weekend. I'm taking it.

I think Alan needs more of a challenge, in a 3 dimensional way.

Re: SHWW Group

Thanks on the driving tips guys. I thought it might be nice to unwind a little after going over white pass on that eastern route. I'll keep an eye on conditions and probly hit blewett.

Jim, Thanks for the response, it does confuse me some, but that's okay, I like being surprised at matches.
