Get off the bench and on the ground prone. You may have to readjust your setup a little but it will be worth it in the long run.

Grab a solid bipod and rear bag.

Out of curiosity, what stock and optic?

I have the Atlas Bipod, but have been using a PRS rest with the mini tripod and it has been great.

Re: help with a bipod or?

If I could only have one I would probably go with the Atlas. The Harris is faster to deploy but like you said, you are mainly shooting at the range so a few extra seconds won't hurt at all. The Atlas is built like a tank, has nice features, is built off of a ball head with a good tension knob, almost all machined aluminum, it pans, swivels and tilts. Not to mention it will hold about 98% of its retail value if you decide you don't like it. You can also get different styles of replacement feet for the Atlas relatively cheap.

I have had a smooth legged, non swivel 6-9 Harris and a notched leg, swivel 6-9 Harris. I like the notched, swivel model better because it is easier for me to adjust quickly without playing with knobs like the smooth legged version. For what you are doing the smooth leg model would still work fine. I also have a TangoDown, Rock Creek claw foot and and Atlas v8.1 and like I said, would choose just the Atlas if I had to. Mine has the the ADM quick detach mount which is nice for swapping it out to other guns if needed also.

Like Jake said, the PRS with one of their SSP cradles is also nice. The small and medium can both be used for prone shooting.

Here is a really good review TBurkes from TAB gear did for the PRS tripods TRIPOD REVIEW WITH PICS<--

You can get a QD LRF adapter plate to use with your rangefinder, or binoculars also.

You can pm Hide member Platypus (Danel) about the PRS tripods and gear or go to PrecisionRifleSolutions.com <--Link

It will easily hold up to your rifle

When I got my PRS I ordered an extra center pole so I could also use the medium tripod while standing if need be. I really like the PRS with SSP-2 cradle.

those atlas bipodes are a little spendy, but if you have the dime, as stated above its built like a tank, i think its the way to go...
