I ordered a 0 moa base on accident. Rifle is a sps tact 308 with bushnell 3200 10x mil/mil and xtr low rings. If im only shooting 100-200 yards, will a 0 moa base work? Should I still upgrade?

Re: 0 MOA vs 20 MOA bases

A 0 degree base with that Bushnell scope will get you past 1000 yards. It will take about 40 MOA to zero, so you will have about 50-60 MOA left of usable travel. You only need about 38 MOA to get to 1000 with .308-175gr-SMKs.

Re: 0 MOA vs 20 MOA bases

I have a SPS-T in 223 with a 0 MOA base that I shoot at 200 yds. There is no reason to need a 20 MOA base for 200 yds.

Only reason to go with a 20 MOA is if you need more elevation then your scope has available to really get out there to something like 600-1000 yds.

I'd be more worried about the fact that your scope doesn't have a parallax adjustment.

Hello there this is first post... I just purchased my first precison rifle also a 700 SPS Tac in .223
I went with a SWFA SS 10x42, TPS TSR low rings and thier XP 0 MOA base.
Could anyone tell me approximently how far my range would max out with this combo?

Re: 0 MOA vs 20 MOA bases

Who has the 20 moa base in stock and ships fast? The 0 moa that I ordered came with screws that wont fit.

If I read the specs correctly on the scope, it's 80 minutes of total adjustment.

That's 40 up, 40 down. Needing "approx" 38 minutes at 1000 is waayy too close. No rifle/scope mount is perfect, every one requires some adjustment anyway out of the box, either up or down- and if it happens to be "up", you lose even more.

Get the 20 minute base for 1000 yard shooting.

EDIT: Sorry, my bad...somehow in my deranged mind I saw 100 as 1000...no need for a down angle base at that distance. But, I do believe you would need it for long distance, and it won't get you to 1000.

Re: 0 MOA vs 20 MOA bases

no need to upgrade shooting at those distances.

Re: 0 MOA vs 20 MOA bases

OP... as others have said. You'll be fine. Can even stretch out to 1k. The only thing you may run into is limited windage adjustments at distance due to hitting the sides of the tube.

Boxer.... SS's have over 100MOA of travel (some 140+), so depending on ammo you should be OK. Federal GMM 77gr drops around 300in. at 1000yds.
