I am in the market for a new F150 to replace my 2007 F150. I am having a hard time finding one sitting on a lot that is any where close to what I want. I would rather buy one that is on a lot somewhere instead of ordering one, but I am not totally against ordering one. In my mind, if I am going to buy a truck that stickers for close to 50k, I want to get one very close what I want if not exactly.

Are there any Ford salesmen here that can help me find a truck? Feel free to PM me if you dont want to talk about it in the open forum.

    Thanks in advance...

i bought a new f150 platinum recently. if they dont have it in stock they wont give you the invoice/near invoice pricing. what id do is do the online ford.com configuration tool and print that out and call the local dealers around you. if none locally have it, expand the search.

i was able to get a new 2011 platinum for invoice - the rebates this way.

the reason for the searching is that if you have the dealers bring it in from somewhere else they lose the holdback on the truck and cant sell it as cheap. fords, iirc are 3% of sticker MSRP.

LOL only an idiot would order a truck.... Even if you have to drive a state or two over look online to find the truck you want or close to what you want. As stated above if you do order one you will not get near the amount off that you would if you found one sitting on a lot somewhere. I was able to get my 2500 dodge from $48k down to $32k before even discussing the trade I was putting in on it. Although I think the Joke is on me as my wife sent me a pic the other day of what she paid for Diesel to fill it up and even though I am not home that often I wish I still had the Gas powered Hemi.

^^^ Is very true.. Look for a pickup you can drive to. My uncle went to Texas(we live in SD) to get a truck. Same truck that woulda cost 45k up here was only 30k down there due to the lack of interest in a 4x4 and that size pickup.

Its def worth the drive to find one.

    Re: Any Ford salesmen here??

Go to Ford online and "build" the truck you want, with the options that you want. Print that out and go to you dealer. Make him do a search for that truck (it is built and on someone's lot, somewhere). Let the dealer do all of the work. You can negotiate the price and they will bring the truck to you.
They should only require you to pay a deposit of around $500-1000 dollars. You should really be serious about the purchase to start this. If you don't like your dealer then do the search on your computer.

    Good luck.

well, the price you pay minus the rebates is just over 40K. but yah i was pretty shocked at how quickly it went up when you added

    -supercab
    -4x4

those two things made the price go up several thousand dollars for each item. I did look around for several months though to find the truck i wanted at a dealer that had it in stock. if you dont want navigation though, that will make the search MUCH easier.

ummmm wrong o, I ordered my 2011 f250 in late august of 2010, they had very few 2011 on the lots. my truck was built on a saturday because they were trying to catch up. I bought my truck for $500 BELOW invoice less incentives which happened to be $4250 in total by the time it was done. had a bought a truck off the lot at the time I ordered I would have actually paid MORE because the incentives at that time were less than what they ended up being at time of delivery.

the process took about 6 weeks and I got the truck the way I wanted. white with tan interior, good luck finding that combo I also avoided options I didn't want. I contend you will save money ordering a truck because you don't get stupid options you don't want. the sales price is the same either way. when I buy a new truck the dealer is tempted to take off the dealer supplied mud flaps because I have worked them over so much. the trucks on the lots are trucks that the dealer feels has the options most people want. its a one size fits all approach. the dealers don't mind ordering a truck because they have it sold as soon as it hits the dealership, there are not costs in it sitting on the lot. order your truck

Fords, like most makers are a commodity. Don't get attached. They are dime a dozen, and you should be able to find exactly what you are looking for. I would order it online, unless you can find one that has been sitting on the lot for sometime that they want to move. Like Tuscon Dave said, when I order my they are all discounted like crazy since they are not essentially risking carrying the note.

    Re: Any Ford salesmen here??

Yeah, I ordered the 2007 that I am driving now. They came down about 9g's off of the sticker price. Ordering this one is probably what its going to come down to...but I do have a hider doing some searching for me right now so we will see.

Pretty sure I am right on this or my truck would have leather seats with a vinyl floor, sunroof, DVD, and gps with everything else being basic...... I buy a new vehicle almost every year with a 2 year lifespan on it... We tried the custom line for our charger and for my new truck, ended up coming out ahead finding one online already built. Also tried multi dealers on the order thing. Sticker or close to sticker or bust.

Another thing I figured out is Cash is not king, got a better deal to finance over just paying cash on the charger.

Are you finding season 3 to be a disappointment compared to season 2 in Mexico?

there is so many different ways to show people what they want to see its not even funny. first off big dealerships show a second window sticker off to the side of the accual sticker price and its usually 3-4K above the accual price and call it maketing adj. or something along those lines so theres 3-4k they can discount it and still be at retail price and then they take 4-5k off in rebates hell thats your 8-9k discount and you think your getting a great deal but in reallity your still paying retail and then they give you some bullshit story and low ball you on your trade. in the car business this is what they call making money on the front end (selling you a new one) and also making money off you in the back end (bringing in your trade low and selling it high). me and my uncle run a small family dealership in sd and we value the customer and treat them right. we have to count on him being our return customer for years to come as well as his friends and family. and if we mess up and don't treat someone fair its not just that customer we loose because in a small towns that customer has coffee every morning with ten guys and guess what the topic is going to be thats right don't buy from them i got screwed on my last truck. feal free to ask me any question you like ill help you get the best deal from one of those big dealers.
