I shot a smallbore prone match next to a lefty shooting a Martini one time. His rifle ejected so hard every time he ejected a round it hit me in the ear. I put my shooting box between me and him, then he complained his brass was bouncing off of my shooting box and hitting him in the face. I wish I would have had my 10/22 that day.
I also had a hot .223 round go down the back of my shooting coat in an offhand relay during a service rifle match a few years back. It managed to stop right between my shoulder blades and stuck. I found out it is possible to remove a Creedmoor hardback shooting coat without undoing the buckles as long as you have the proper motivation. I let out a scream and in a single motion the coat came off with my shirt and sweatshirt. The range officer about died laughing, when he peeled the brass off of my back it took a considerable amount of skin with it.
