Someone help me out. Somebody posted a movie clip of a guy getting showered with hot brass by a kid shooting next to him. I think it was in the motivational pic thread, but can't find it. I think the clip is from some horrible war or drug movie based in central america. Any help? It makes me laugh so fucking hard and I want to send it to my buddy

Re: Brass shower

It's always fun to bean someone at a range. The old HK-91 does it quite well.

But only when they are 20 feet to your 2:00.

Re: Brass shower

I always thought the HK was designed that way to cover your right flank. I was shocked the first time I saw how far a 91 was chucking brass.

Re: Brass shower

The last time I fired in a Service Rifle 600 yd match, I shot my Garand. Two positions to the right, my brass was going down the neck of a AR-15 shooter. Told him that's why us old farts used to wear the smokey bear hats on the line. When the command to police your brass was given, he took a handful and winged it back at me....no sense of humor....

I shot a smallbore prone match next to a lefty shooting a Martini one time. His rifle ejected so hard every time he ejected a round it hit me in the ear. I put my shooting box between me and him, then he complained his brass was bouncing off of my shooting box and hitting him in the face. I wish I would have had my 10/22 that day.

I also had a hot .223 round go down the back of my shooting coat in an offhand relay during a service rifle match a few years back. It managed to stop right between my shoulder blades and stuck. I found out it is possible to remove a Creedmoor hardback shooting coat without undoing the buckles as long as you have the proper motivation. I let out a scream and in a single motion the coat came off with my shirt and sweatshirt. The range officer about died laughing, when he peeled the brass off of my back it took a considerable amount of skin with it.

Yup, that's about it. Very consistent, although I've never tried measuring the group.

Re: Brass shower

I watched a friend get hit during a class when the moron beside him hit the selector on his M16 and went too far. He was expecting semi & got full auto. It looked a lot like the brass shower video

The instructor went apeshit! I've been nailed a few times myself. I used to be a welder so I learned to deal with hot shit in my shirt. Except for getting hit with 50BMG brass, now thats a different story

I've noticed different calibers get hotter than others. 9mm gets fairly hot, but .45 and .38 special, while hot, not so hot that you can't touch them. 5.56 gets crazy hot, but .308 is just warm. Never fired a 50 though. I would imagine with that much powder it would get a little steamy.

Re: Brass shower

See that broad on the the last episode of Sons of Guns get the round in her shirt from the DE 50. Then stand in the same spot while 2 more casing hit her in the face. Maybe this should be moved to the blonde joke forum.

Re: Brass shower

My son was at the range with me a couple weeks ago and was hell bent on recovering all my 5x fired 308 brass...it was getting junked after this set anyway but he just HAD to recover each one as it was ejected. Every one he blew on his fingers and transported it back to an empty MTM case - some folks are thicker than others. He's about as stubborn as they come. Mom asked why his fingers were blistered.

I always thought pain was a good motivator...apparently, trying to find the positive here, he has a high tolerance for pain.

You are more than happy to help her retrieve them ?

Re: Brass shower

hot brass isnt so bad.. saw the results of a knuckle head who had a pen flare half cocked on his kit.. went off bounced off the roof of the truck or his chin and right down between his plate and shirt.. try pulling a 200lb knuckle dragger out of the trunk monkey seat while on fire.. i was cracking up when told the story and looking at the pics.. lol

I can fire a round, immediately crank the bolt, and catch the brass out of the air - and it's barely warm.
