No idea where to put this but im new to the corvallis area and dont know where to shoot other that than the Albany range. But I need more distance than 200 yards to shoot my .338 so I was wondering if there were any locals on here that know spots to shoot?

I'm in Hood River. I can shoot out to 1100 yd. on public land . That's about 80 miles maybe? Might be worth looking at if you can't find anything closer. I have looked for longer but come up empty. The gate opens in two weeks. Get hold of me if you've a mind to try it.

I would think you could head out towards Alsea and find some public land to shoot on. Shouldn't be too hard to find a clearcut to shoot 1000+.

grandma deeterding has some land over yonder, you can shoot out to 1100 yards or (as stated in thread) equivalent to 80 miles... I will contact guiness so that they can observe your record-winning shooting...

The op asked if there was a place to shoot long range close to him. The response was there is blm land offering 1100 yard shooting about 80 miles away. You should read the threads more carefully.

Tri-Coounty Gun club Sherwood has a 800 as I recall.
It is legal to shoot anywhere on National forest and there are places with some exploring that will get you out to 1000.
Clearcuts are much harder to find than they used to be....

Ya I went up Mary's peak today and shot a little bit but there was no where with much distance at all. A few clear cuts and some hiking and I think I can find some good spots up there. If anyone in the Corvallis area wants to head up some time let me know.
