i have finally decided to get a can ive always thought they werent worth the money cuz they dont really make the weapon better just quieter, and i have ear plugs for that. But i want one for my 22 because a can on a 22 is really cool and super quiet! i woud like to stay around 200 or less cuz after fees and tax stamps im looking at around 500. if anyone has any reccomendations please let me know. pictures would also be appreciated. if u have anyone you can refer me to that would be great. i need to get the ball rolling cuz there is no way around the 6 month waiting period

This one will run around $210 tax and fees included.

Re: cheap can for 22

It's the $200.00 tax stamp and 6 months wait that makes me say don't go cheap on the suppressor. There can be quite a difference between a $250.00 suppressor and a $400.00 suppressor. Take a look at some of the videos on SilencerCo's website (www.silencerco.com). Buy something you know you will be happy with. You can't just exchange it.

I have a SilencerCo Sparrow and an AAC Piolot 2. I like them both, but neither is in the $200.00 range.

Too funny. A couple quarts of Quaker State and a set of extra-extra-high scope rings and we're good to go.

This. Go donate plasma and collect coke cans for a few months and save a few extra hundred dollars. The SWR Spectre, silencerco sparrow, and AAC element are much better cans and are worth saving for.

I agree with the above, you generally pay for what you get with a .22 silencer. However, there are some good .22 silencers available for less money. My 5 year old SWR Warlock .22 suppressor is still quieter than my Silencerco sparrow and has had thousands of rounds fired through it. Tactical Solutions makes a great titanium suppressor that is around $300, which would put you at $500 with a tax stamp.

Re: cheap can for 22

The YHM mites are ok and cheap. I have a aluminum and SS one they are both ear safe and do a good job. They do have a pretty strong first round pop. I have several better cans pending in .22 including a SWR spectre, AWC Ti Archangel and Gemtech outback II. I wish I had done the better cans first. Thanks PG

Re: cheap can for 22

Tactical solutions cascade-ti. Ive bought, sold, and used several of the big names and the cascade sounds as good as any. The one shown on my Ruger is the titanium version, but I duracoated it to match my gun. These run around $300 and they make one with an aluminum body for a little less. Only downfall to these is that they cannot be taken apart for cleaning. However, the all titanium version can be soaked in solvents to clean them out. About 1500 rounds through this one and havent had to clean it yet even though I know its due.

Re: cheap can for 22

I'm got a Form 4 pending on a Huntertown Guardian...street price around $200 and it has metered comparably with the Sparrow.

May not be the quietest out there, but actually getting to demo the can sold it to me.

Re: cheap can for 22

I am in the same boat as you. I have been looking at the Thompson Machine Zephyr XL. I like the Sparrow SS, but I haven't decided if I should spend the extra $100.

Re: cheap can for 22

Man that oil can takes me back to high school days and the good ol anarchist's cook book... not that I would ever do such a thing but if I would have I would probably find that an oil filter does an ok job, probably and just a theory but I would imagine 4 water bottles stacked on top of each other would do an ok job too. None of this ever happened but if it would have happened, it would have been a very long time ago.

Re: cheap can for 22

Im digging the Thomson machine products. There's a dealer in my state that im goin to go thru. Just waiting to see when he can have "the thirty" cuz I want a 22 and 30 cal can. Thanks for makin me spend more than I wanted to guys

Re: cheap can for 22

I second the Huntertown suppressors. For $400 total you can a decent can that can be used on .17 HMR and .22.
