All of those that have a AX Chassis, lets see what you have done to it. Whether you left it stock, or painted it. Post some pics!

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

I have one but unfortunately waiting on the action to arrive.

Gonna be a Defiance S/A, CG jackson trigger, Bartlein 1-11.25 .30 tight M40 contour at probably 22" spiral fluted by Paul at PPR with a Badger FTE break. Going to have Cameron at Murphy Precision custom up a scope base and sending the barreled action to Todd at Phantom Finishing so he can send it to IonBond.

To those that post pics don't forget the build specs/parts list. Thanks! (Tagged)

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

I'm in the same boat, except I have all the parts I need. Just need my gunsmith get the time to work on it. Stiller action, Rock Creek M40 barrel wioth 1/8 twist, got the reamer off ebay for 6.5x47 Lapua. May have the skins hydro dipped digital camo.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Here is mine. 40X rimfire.

60 shots inside 1cm at 50 meters. The dot is the center of the bullet, not the entire diameter. If you look close you can see the outline of shot 60 at 7:30, 2mm left and 1mm down.

What length barrel is that on that surgeon action?

13" or 16" forearm tube??

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

20" MTU barrel and I think the forearm is 16. It just works so I haven't measured it. The MTU barrel is new for me. But I'm anticipating some really easy reloading because the barrel harmonics should be nearly zero. I'm just changing the seating on my old load and it seems to work fine. I haven't chrony'd the load from the new barrel. I'm guessing I've lost 50fps from my 24" barrel. Thats an estimate based upon how my actual dope changed.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Tom I'm guessing the forearm is tan also?

Also when is the anticipated "rail accessory kit" gonna be available for us AX AICS people to buy?

Looks nice!

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Tom I am referring to the accessory rails in different lengths for the AX. Are they available for purchase separately?

Through dealers or AINA? Thanks for the heads up.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Tom, please retrofit the ax chassis to an AE mk III for me and I will send you a six pack of Newcastle. Ok, ok a twelve pack.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Here's mine, not the greatest picture, but one of the best stocks I've ever used. The stock is very user friendly and works great off of barricades. I got mine through Mile High Shooting, they also milled the trigger area for my jewel trigger and where the bolt rests.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

96C, eventually my rifle will end up like that, maybe different glass though, but great looking rifle none of the less.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

96C,

Great paint, Great photos, Great looking rig all together. I enjoyed looking at it.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

What scope base is that, and what size objective is your NF Scope?

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

^
56mm Obj
BO 20 MOA base, zero cant Spuhr mount (which run on the high side of med height rings)

as you can see i have only about 1mm-2mm of scope clearance, too little to fit my obj cap on

something for people to consider when getting rings and a scope for this chassis

i got lucky with my height that the scope even fit at all.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Nice! I have have the 56mm Obj also. I had a set of NF med rings (1.265), and the Obj cover wouldnt fit. I also saw that from shooting the rifle, there were small marks under the bell of the scope from hitting the shroud on the AX chassis. So I went with the 1.375 rings. A little high, but it works.... I guess lol

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

I just received mine from Mike at Black Ops Precision yesterday. It's an Infidel in the green AX chassis. Need to throw on an optic and post up. Looks and feels great, can't wait to get behind it.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Remington model 700P .308, Rifle Basix L-1 K trigger set to 2.5 Lbs, Badger Ordnance Ultra High rings 1.400", Nightforce 40 MOA base and Nightforce NXS 3.5-15X50mm with the NP-R2 reticle.

AADLAND Mount (1.45")--NXS 56mm objective

The stock fits amazing! I'm thinking about selling one of my organs to fund an AX 308. When you think about it, a McMillan A5 adjustable stock will run you anywhere from $700-900 shipped, plus a DBM from Surgeon or Badger will add on another $300-350. Moreover, the wait on Manners and McMillan stocks...forget about it!! In the end, the stock's quality, looks, availability, and price fit me.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Alright here is an idea,

I plan to use an AX chassis in the future, replacing the H&S stock I have. I'm looking at optic mounts, and the centerline height is 1.210 inches, the American Defense AD Recon SL mount. The objective diameter of the Scope I plan to use is 2.33", which would have a radius of 1.165". Depending on the scope rail, which would be at the same, or a bit higher, height of the forend, would this scope clear? According to my math, it will. The scope in question is a Vortex Razor.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

It might not clear. With that combo you have .045" of difference. Thats roughly less than a 16th of an inch. I would look to get a little higher rings just to be safe.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Holy crap, thats a fantastic setup. The paint is amazing, and I have the same pelican case, but I want to go hide now after seeing yours. I guess I should order more foam and start over. Thanks for posting this, again, it looks great!

If the scope base itself was higher than the forend of the Chassis itself, which it would be, it should fit, but it will be close.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Thats right, I forgot about the scope base. Youre good to go.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

All of mine are "bone stock"

Here is a all black 260 on an AX

How about a 308 all green?

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

My R700 in .308. The Harris has been replaced with an Atlas and the SDN-6 will be replaced with my new TB 30P-1 as soon as the stamp shows up. I'm also thinking of rechambering it to .260 but it will stay 308 for now.

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

Tom,

I've got a fever! And the only prescription is more pics of that all ran AX chassis! That thing is out of this world! Also, how much of a hassle is it going to be to put an AE MKIII in one of these? Prohibitively so? Minor ass pain? Or somewhere in between? And if that won't work, they work fine with surgeon actions, right? It should be close enough to the Remington footprint, I would think...

Re: AX Chassis- Lets see them!

All of mine have Surgeon actions. They work fine....that's why I have 3 of them
