Want to Thanks Mike R from Tac Ops,

My Tango 51 arrived today and will be on the range with it tomorrow.

The rifle is gorgeous, fit and finish is awesome and the custom engraving he did completely kicks ass.

    Tango51Ti.jpg

As you can see it has a matched suppressor from Tac Ops

His test targets I posted on the SH Facebook Page : Tac Ops Test Targets

I am looking forward to kicking it old school, 168gr FGMM loaded through the top.

Looking sharp, love the fact that it's topped with the SWFA SS too. Dying to hear the range report!

I have to agree. One to grow old with for sure.

Very, very nice!!!! Mine is showing up this week as well. Unbelievable floor plate! Kinda makes me wish I had ordered one.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Can't tell what I like most about this...that AWESOME floorplate engraving, or the photography of said floorplate and rifle...

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

The engraving on these Tac Ops rifles are all done by hand with a hammer and chisel. Mike asked me if I wanted my S.O. Badge engraved on the floor plate of my rifle and REGRETFULLY, I declined...

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

    Are you serious?

Thats just sick. I cant get over those groups......holy shit.

As good as Mike's rifles look they shoot even better. But we've already known this for years. Drive a TacOps rifle well and you won't need a follow up.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

That looks like mine except I live in California so no suppressors. I bet it shoots bug holes.

Mine also likes 155 Scenars with 44.0 grains H4895, Lapua case, Fed BR Primer, 2.82" OAL. Same bug holes and good to 1000 yards no problem

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Frank don't just stick to 168s. My hand loads on the 155s and 175s shoot just as well as the 168s through my Tac Ops Echo 51. I will say this I have never been able to beat the Fed 168s with my hand loads, just match them as far as groups go. By the way you will get bored really quick shooting groups with that rifle, it's just to easy.

Congrats on the Tac Ops rifle.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Heading to the range now, I will shoot some others through it, but I am not hand loading 308, there is no reason in this day and age in my opinion.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

That is an amazing piece right there! The engraving is amazing1

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Bottom metal looks great, had to take forever to get that kind of results. Frank this is going to be the first time I've seen you without a bottom feeder.

Enjoy it! But if you don't need to save money on ammunition costs then you don't shoot enough or we have made you too rich! 8^)

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

I wish I could talk myself, my wife, or anyone else into funding a Tac Ops rifle and suppressor set-up for me. Very nice rifle. I am very impressed.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Nice. I find it ironic that a company that builds suppressors operates out of Kalifornia, especially Beverly Hills.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Looks like a good candidate for 2012 Sniper's Hide limited Edition Rifle... I'd guess this stands a much better chance of order fulfillment than that jackass from the 2009 rifle.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Yeah but mike doesn't build off some super high speed custom action so it can't possibly be any good. Lmao (utter and complete sarcasm)

I was tickled when I saw this thread sitting next to the Sticky Tac Ops thread at the top of the forum...I couldn't resist.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

I can't wait to see the results you get Frank.
The test targets that you posted on Facebook made me choke on my coffee this morning.

    Simply amazing accuracy.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Imagine looking at a bullet hole, and there you have it.

I do wonder why federal gold medal 175's aren't used? With the 175's having the better reputation at longer ranges, it just makes more dollars...

Incredible groups though, can't wait for Franks report as well.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Tac Ops will definitely leave you feeling cheated. You pay for five bullets and all you get is one hole.

I can beat FGMM with my 175gr SMK handloads, but I put a lot of work into them.

    022812SHGroupsTacOpsKilo51.jpg

On this one, I agged out at .26 MOA at 110 yards... just a hair over the 1/4 MOA guarantee... but you can see where I pulled a couple of shots.

With a Tac Ops, there is nothing left to hide your mistakes. They are all you. It is one of the more frustrating aspects of a gun this accurate.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

    That is some beautiful engraving.
    Congrats on your rifle.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

I am not gonna beat anything my zero group, and this was like 6 or 8 shots in there, I loaded the internal box mag twice,

    MagnetoShotTacOps.jpg

with the suppressor it was just as accurate, <span style="font-style: italic">(ignore that one, to the side I did that as I was accidentally on the sling stud, and not square on the bag. )</span> But you can see the 4 shots I didn't screw up worked well (the White Squares are 1")

    MagnetoShotTacOpsSupressor3.jpg

Today I really just zeroed the scope and played with that magneto chronograph so I wasn't really focusing on the Tango much, still the groups were impressive and clearly it is easily one of the most accurate rifles I have ever used. No hype here, the gun performs to a standard few can match.

Threw 5 rounds of Bryan Litz's 175gr through it

    Litz175.jpg

And a couple more of Cor Bon 175gr and the results are the same, that dot is only 3/8" of an inch, and heck I was barely trying I was just looking to see what it would do.

    CorBon175.jpg

I would hate to see what happened if I really concentrated on it, as I was basically cleaning up and pulled these out to try.

I had this rifle rest I was using and I totally hated it, it wasn't level it was moving on me, and the height was all wrong, I should have went to a bipod but I didn't have a Harris with me since almost everything I have uses an Atlas, the Harris's are all collecting dust. So the rifle rest was there and I kept on hanging up on the sling stud.

    MagnetoShotTacOpsSupressor2.jpg

Mike builds a helluva rifle that is for sure... next time I will get a better position and really see what it will do, but I am beyond happy with what I have.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Because I <span style="font-style: italic">just</span> mailed my check to Mike for a Delta-51, I am very, very interested to see the results of Frank's tests. As I routinely block Facebook from my computer (hey--if they have no respect for my privacy concerns, then I have no respect for their advertising concerns), I will beg for the photos to be posted directly to this site, too.

    Yours,

    David

EDIT: D'oh! Frank's photos appeared just as I was typing. Oh, the perils of failing to refresh one's browser...

Thanks much for the report, Frank; it's just the sort of info I was looking for.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Thanks for posting the target pictures LL.

That is a fine rifle and equally fine shooting.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

Awesome, it is like a classic Ferrari. Top loaded, pure performance. Great job on the engraving. Very nice.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

How well did the suppressor do as in sound, dust signature , and whatever else you can come up with compared to your surefire or others you have used? Obviously it shoots well.

Re: Sniper's Hide Tango 51 from Tac Ops

The suppressor is outstanding, it really shines, maintains accuracy, and is super quiet. I know Mike has a lot of proprietary tech in his cans, and they work. Really quiet, next to no signature what so ever.

To this day, the quietest can I have ever heard was a Tac Ops, it was an older 300WM from LA Sheriffs, and the rifle was quieter than most 308s with a can.

The can from Mike was definitely a priority for me.

Congratulations on the Tango 51 and TAC .30 Titanium, Frank. Also, <span style="font-style: italic">"Welcome to the Tac Ops family"</span>. Now that you have a Tango and have shot it a bit you <span style="font-style: italic">know</span> that Tac Ops really do shoot. The thing is, <span style="font-style: italic"> all Tac Ops rifles shoot.</span> Mike doesn't give anyone special treatment based on who they are, or are not. It's the same with the guns and suppressors - all are machined and built the exact same way. Tac Ops builds every rifle, suppressor, and shotgun as if it was being built for Mike himself. Ultra-precise machining, exacting fit & finish, obcessive attention-to-detail, and extreme accuracy are inherent in everything Tac Ops rifle and suppressor.

Also, beautiful photos <span style="font-style: italic">(as usual)</span>, Frank. Mike actually called me about a week and a half ago and asked if I could come over and shoot some photos of your floorplate before he shipped your Tango out, but I couldn't make it over to his side of town. I saw your floorplate when it came back from the engraver but didn't take any detail photos of it or on the Tango. The sharpness and details of the <span style="font-style: italic">"Sniper's Hide"</span> logo really "pop" in-person - maybe next time you head to the range with the Tango you might be so kind as to shoot a nice, sharp photo of it and post it with your groups. TIA, and again - congrats.

Answered by a man who owns several different suppressors, shoots in all manner of conditions, and is exposed to ever-expanding configurations of rifles and suppressors at work. What higher praise can there be?
