Posted a scope last monday. Got a PM a few minutes later I'll take it. I said great here is my paypal.
Buyer: I can't do paypal would a money order be fine?
Me: Sure heres my address when you get it send it out.

Buyer hasn't signed back online since the intital contact so I emailed the contact he had listed. Said I should have got the Money Order Last Thursday. I emailed him back saturday that it never came. No response to email still hasn't signed back on here.

How long do I wait around? Before moving along?

USPS is great but things do get sidetracked. Id give him a couple more days then relist.

I'm sure he sent an important thing like a money order via certified mail, which would provide him with tracking information.

If he didn't, then he doesn't deserve any sympathy at all - especially if he's not checking his e-mails every day.

If you do get a money order that doesn't come from the USPS, check it very carefully. They are commonly counterfeited. Lots of red flags here.

I'd wait another day, then re-post the ad. If the same guy appears, tell him you will ship the product two weeks after receipt of a USPS money order.

Check his prior posts, if it's the guy that I think it is then he backed out of another 3-9 SS recently, if it's him then just move on and relist.

In the last 2 years I have had 3 USPS m.o.lost in transit.It does happen.In order to get them redeemed... you pay the p.o. another 5$+ to do a search.... 6 weeks later... you get a check from them for the amount of the m.o.
Now...when I mail a USPS m.o. I sandwich it between other paper...have`nt "LOST" one since....

Sounds like it might be a 419 scam. It will be obvious if you receive the MO for more than you asked... this will lead to the buyer asking you to wire a 3rd part the difference. The MO will turn out to be fake.

I haven't sent the scope, but just wanted to gauge your opinion on how long I should wait. If the Money Order did come after I moved on I'd just refuse delievery and have it returned to him i Guess?

Don't open it, either return to sender or place in a new envelope unopened and mail it back with delivery confirmation.

So since posting this thread, I get an email back....?

Said it was sent out Wednesday. I know there was a holiday but sure would have thought I should have it by yesterday.

Well if he said he sent it out then that's that.

Some people don't move at the speed of the internet, patience is a virtue...

You should see when I order r/c stuff from china - takes 30 days to get it.

Looks like he did pay for an receive a rifle successfully though, so maybe he or the mail is just a little slow.

I would make sure the mo clears before I did anything. I just got took and a scope deal a couple of weeks ago. Lots of low life trash out there now, and it's not getting any better sorry to say.

The money order was fake? If it was report that fuck stick to the police.
