Good afternoon, all,

This post is informational only in the event it helps anyone else. I spoke with HS Precision regarding their recommended torque spec and sequence of tightening with a Savage action and they gave me the following:

65 in-lb - front and rear action screw

hand tight - rear trigger guard screw

sequence - tighten both action screws, but start with the front (nearest muzzle) and make sure it is the first to reach final torque spec of 65 in-lb.

Not sure if this will be of much use to anyone, but I figured it was worth sharing.

Warmest regards,

Rob

Thanks for the heads up. I still cant find this published in any documents from Savage.

Re: Savage 10 HS Precision Torque Spec & Sequence

Did a shooting test on my three Choate Tacticals,as I tightened each screw in 5''lb increments , the best accuracy was at 45''lbs on the front and 40''lbs on the rear. Now I just re-torque when I disasemble and I'm right back in busness,I have retested the groups after doing this.Works for me !!
