Gunsmithing Muzzle brake for Rem 700

Re: Muzzle brake for Rem 700

Nope, it depends upon where the ID threading of the brake begins.

If it is a brake that needs to be "tuned", that is, there are ports that need to be aligned to the left and right of the barrel, you will either have to use spacers or machine/fit the muzzle brake to make sure you have correct alignment.

Re: Muzzle brake for Rem 700

If I use the crush washer I could tune the ports to the left and right. Could the crush washer damgage the shoulder? Im planning on getting a thread on. If it does than Ill just get another barrel I guess.

Re: Muzzle brake for Rem 700

If you haven't bought it yet why don't you get the AAC brake that you can attack the can to? It comes with several different shims that help you align the brake perfectly.

Re: Muzzle brake for Rem 700

Now I'm confused!

So let's say you want a fitted muzzle brake.
Will you be able to have a fitted suppressor for the same threaded barrel to?

For example, If I order a barrel, and want it threaded for a can and brake.
Will I have to send dimensions for the can and brake? Or can you fit both a can and brake to fit the threads on your barrel without altering the barrel threads?
I know there's quick detachment although I would rather screw on.
