I am just about ready to pick up a new 6.5mm cal barrel for my rem 700 and i am just thinking would the action threads be able to handle the weight of an MTU contour without ill effects in the long run. At 26" in length, it would have quite the force against it.
Thanks for the input.

Fear not, it's been done plenty of times with no problems.

OK, thanks, i was just worried about the threads expanding from the weight, then the barrel loosening, causing accuracy problems.

The main accacy problem will be fatigue from moving it.

No problems here and it shoots bugholes with 175 GMM.

I mount 30" 1.25" straight countour on my F-class guns that are built on 700 clones which for the most part have the same tenon as the Rem 700. So an MTU is a breeze.
