An outstanding match, as always. What really impressed me, though, was the level of professionalism, knowledge, and experience of the Range Officer staff. Rarely have I seen a more squared-away bunch of selfless people in the same place at the same time. Thanks again to Jacob, Lisa, and Lindy for all their hard work to bring it about, and for their hospitality and support to those of us who came from far away to be a part of it.
It surprises me how the skill level of the competitors continues to increase geometrically from one year to the next: Constant skill improvement is now a requirement simply to maintain one's ranking in this company. Shooting with/against this crowd was truly a humbling experience for me. The future of this sport is indeed bright!

Another fun few days down at Rifles Only. Had fun hanging with my friends as usual. That TX heat was an ass kicker for this yankee though LOL Some tricky winds the last two days as well. Having only a 400 yard range with no wind usually makes shooting down there in south TX even harder LOL

Incredible doesn't begin to describe another absolute kick ass match at Rifle's Only. It never ceases to amaze me how the bar never sits still at RO as Jacob, Lisa, Lindy et al are always pushing the bar higher and higher.
As always, it's fantastic shooting at RO and seeing old friends while making new ones.
I do NOT want to thank the state of Texas for bringing 100*+ days in April.

This match was my first time to compete at any shooting discipline, and it was a very rewarding experience. Out of all of it, the people involved impressed me the most. The Rifles Only folks are outstanding. The work they put in during the train up squared me away as much as possible for the match. Thank you! All of the shooters and RO's were very helpful during the match and were a nice bunch to talk to afterward as well. Thank you! I wish I could remember folks names better for shout outs on particular things, but I won't forget one guy's name that made my first match a success. George Gardner and GAP rifles absolutely rock! I had a potential match ending issue before I started that he resolved immediately upon hearing it. Unbelievable CS that earned a life-long customer. Thank you!

I was just in amazement on the tac drivers that competed. I learned a ton from these shooters and will implement it into my units training. Great experience and it forces myself to train harder and outside the box. Thank you

Yesterday and today have not slowed down for us (started another course today). We plan on doing a huge shout out for the sponsors very soon. Thanks to everyone involved in this comp. From the awesome sponsors, the range officers, and the competitors....thank you. Congrats to the surgeon team for once again kicking some serious BUTT! We apologize for the extreme heat and promise it won't be that way next year. Looking at February 2013 for our next big competition. From the response we are getting from the sponsors and people involved it should be one of the best yet. Ok, will write more tomorrow. Thanks again...EVERYONE!

I think that may have been the best RO match that I've ever attended. Everything was super, with a quite challenging course of fire and some fierce competition. I know how often, and how hard, those OK boys train, and it was no surprise to me that they finished where they did - BIG Congrats, guys!
My sincerest thanks to Bushnell and the other sponsors, the ROs that worked so hard to keep us all safe, of course our host Jacob, and especially to Lisa for all her hard work and prep to put this together. What a fantastic job you all did!

With the exception of the HG mover stage, all of the HG stages basically simulated this - shoot the close targets w/HG to get to the "Mouse Trap" or trench to engage additional targets with your rifle. Though PRS may use this match as a "Qualifier", it is RO's match, not PRS's, and I hope that RO doesn't change a thing. The ratio of HG to rifle targets is about perfect, in my opinion, for the reasons stated above.

This year's chopper stage was bad ass! I always enjoy them, but the chopper/pistol/trench warfare combination was awesome! To run almost 100 shooters through this was a huge amount of work but was amazing from the shooters' point of view.
With the heat and the 3 days of shooting it was a nice change to get to cut out and relax in the evenings rather than bang away at night shoots. I do enjoy a good rifles Only night stage, though.
The dual mover stage called "Oh Shit!" was a hoot although that's exactly what I said when I saw my score in it.
I enjoyed the mix of pistol into several stages to add complexity to the stage. While a few points were possible on pistol it is clearly planned so that the best pistoleros cannot score considerably more pistol points than an average pistol shooter like me.
On the third day we were all dragging pretty good but the stages fell more quickly than you would ever think possible with 90+ shooters. Your late night planning and tweaking did not go without notice. This put us making very good time to the final get together, to the always awesome barbecue, and then home on time for Easter services.
What a great weekend! Thanks to all of the RO crew for your hard work. Thanks to Tom Fuller of Bushnell for sponsoring this massive competition. Thanks to George for the rifle and to Surefire for the suppressor.
Thanks the most to the warriors that keep us all free to make our own decisions and pursue our own interests. I am humbled to be allowed to rub elbows with some of our country's finest to whom this is much more than a sport.
I can't wait to be back to see you all in the fall.

The sponsor table was once again spectacular. Bushnell stepped up in a big way, putting not only a huge pile of prizes on the table, but sponsoring the Helicopter event as well. I will jump at any excuse to fly! Thanks to all the other sponsors, both big industry and small home shops, who took money out of their pockets in this economy to donate to the shooters.
The course of fire was challenging as always. The targets just keep getting smaller! The new dual mover gave Jacob's devious mind plenty to play with. Alternating shots on a pair of moving 1 MOA targets at 500 yards is more fun than I should be allowed to have. It was a significant step up in difficulty from the old mover stages. The rat trap and field mouse trap offered plenty of challenging positions, on both paper and steel. The Helicopter/clearing the trench stage was enjoyable as well. Combine all this with a fine group of competitors and this was a match not to have missed.
Congrats to all those who shot. I think everyone will have walked away a better shooter. The top 3, well, you guys continue to shine match after match. Hats off to you.

Well the Bushnell Brawl is in the books. A big THANK YOU to Jacob, Lisa and the staff for all the hard work they put in to run the match. As many have posted here the HEAT was a big factor during day one.
A big THANK YOU also goes out to Bushnell and all the sponsors for there support.
It was GREAT to see everyone and also to make some new friends. Hope to see everyone soon.

Thank you to Jacob and Lisa and all of the RO's...Lindy, Tony & April, Winn, John, Myles, Nick, Josh, Cody, Fritz, Todd, Ed and Steven..and everyone else that helped put on a great comp. Running over 90 competitors (safely and with little down time) is a huge task that could only be accomplished with a large amount of planning and hard work. My hat is off to everyone involved.
A big thanks to all of the SPONSORS. The prize table was once again HUGE. Everyone walked away with something nice. Please support those sponsors that support us.
I enjoyed being able to compete with everyone but the targets seem to be getting smaller and the movers faster. Till next time..
